2023 Recap: Woo is another young pitcher that made his debut last year, and he did so to mixed results. Longballs were a problem here, 1.33 per nine innings, but Woo did strikeout 9.55 batters per nine innings while walking 3.18. With a 4.21 ERA, it was a solid debut, but the Mariners didn't let him pitch deep into games as he had just 87.2 innings in 18 starts.
2024 Outlook: A 3.48 xERA provides some optimism as opposing hitters did struggle to make strong contact against Woo last year with just a 6.3% barrel-rate and 33.3% hard-hit rate. There are likely going to be some bumps and inconsistency here as Seattle continues to be careful with him, but there is something here as Woo is an intriguing arm.
