2023 Player Outlook

2023 Recap: His first year in the majors was a success overall. He received votes for NL Cy Young by the end of the year. In the second half of the year, Senga’s numbers really took off with a 2.58 ERA (3.41 FIP) over his last 76.2 innings while reducing his WHIP from 1.28 in the first half to 1.15 in the second half. While he did strikeout a lower percentage of batters in the second half, avoiding runs and hits more than made up for it. 

2024 Outlook: Coming into 2023 Senga was the third starter for the Mets and now he’s the ace of the remade staff. That’s a big upgrade and hope that the second half numbers are up to the task. Senga has all of the stuff to be an effective MLB pitcher to be sure but he’s not a typical ace and that’s the case for fantasy baseball as well. He fits better as an SP2 in fantasy and real life.
