2023 Player Outlook
2023 Recap: Sears ended up as a mainstay in the Oakland rotation last year and managed just five victories against 14 losses. Despite the comfort of the A's home park, Sears still allowed 1.78 home runs per nine innings. A 4.54 ERA shouldn't have been a surprise, and at around eight strikeouts per nine innings, we aren't picking up any upside there.
2024 Outlook: It will be interesting to see how Sears bounces back from the increased workload last year, and his 5.15 FIP in 2023 is also a cause for concern. Opposing hitters had an 11.1% barrel-rate last year, other than guaranteed innings, there isn't much to see here.
