2023 Player Outlook

2023 Recap: At the start of the 2022 season the Royals were excited about the lefthanded pop that Michael Massey might bring to the lineup. His bat, considered a strong suit, was hot and cold and even though he did hit 15 home runs and 18 doubles Massey lacked consistency at the plate. He had two terrible months, two mediocre months and two good months. When the season was over Massey finished with a dismal slash line of .229/.274/.381. Massey's second half did see an increase in power as he hit just four home runs in the first half but in the second half, he slammed 11 (he also hit 12 of his 18 doubles in the second half). 

2024 Outlook: Adam Frazier has been signed to be a veteran presence behind Massey so if positive regression does not occur for the youngster Frazier will be able to step in. For now, it's Massey's job but it is also a long baseball season.
