2023 Player Outlook

2023 Recap: First baseman Vinnie Pasquantino was a revelation in 2022, batting .295/.383/.450 with 10 home runs and more walks than strikeouts in 298 plate appearances. A torn right labrum ended his 2023 season in June, but Pasquantino was on his way to living up to his previous years billing. Although his average had slipped to .247, Pasquantino homered nine times and drove in 26 runs through the Royals' first 63 games, marks that would total out to 23 homers and 67 RBIs in a full 162-game schedule. And that doesn't account for the improvement he likely would have made as the season progressed.

2024 Outlook: If he can return to full health with his surgically repaired right shoulder in 2024, he could form a dominant one-two punch in the lineup with Bobby Witt Jr and make the Royals one fo the surprises of the season.
