2023 Player Outlook

2023 Recap: When looking at the overall stat line, Nootbaar's 2023 campaign shows improvement and development. However, that's a bit of an understatement. It actually showed a ton of improvement. He maintained an excellent walk rate, cut into his strikeout rate for the second straight year, and below 20 percent for the first time. Beyond that, his zone contact rate jumped to 89.1 percent, and he cut his swinging strike rate down to 5.8 percent, which is exceptional! 

2024 Outlook: I expect the Cardinals to limit his at-bats against southpaws, but even so, that puts him on the large side of any platoon, and he'll get multiple starts per week. He was everyone's fantasy baseball darling last season, but the price is far more palatable in 2024, making him a great draft day value, as he's only getting better, and should gain membership to the 15/10 club this year, while hitting .260 or higher.
