2023 Player Outlook
2023 Recap: Baty made the jump to the majors after just 26 games at Triple-A in 2023. It was a rough transition for Baty and his bat to Queens from Syracuse. Over the 108 games in MLB he slashed .212/.275/.323 with nine homers, 41 R, 34 RBI, and two steals. Perhaps that stat line was a bit disappointing given that he hit 10 HR in 26 games at Triple-A before coming up.
2024 Outlook: Like with most rookies, they’ll expect a step forward in performance in their sophomore season. A better average and a tick up in power should be in the making for him considering he posted a .236 xBA last year and .300 xwOBA. The Mets are in a reloading process and Baty will be given every chance to be a key part of that.
