2023 Player Outlook

2023 Recap: The Guardians have overloaded their minor league system with shortstops from Andres Gimenez to Tyler Freeman to Gabriel Arias and the best may be yet to come. It is expected that Brayan Rocchio will truly take over the shortstop position sooner than later this season. Nicknamed "The Professor" for his high baseball IQ, the 22-year-old hit .247/.279/.321 with six doubles and 27 strikeouts in 86 MLB plate appearances in 2023.

2024 Outlook: Rocchio tore up the Venezuelan Winter League and there's nothing left for him to prove in the minors. Rocchio has a similar skill set to Jose Ramirez, given his base running ability and potential power and Ramirez has made himself into a five-time All Star, with four Silver Slugger Awards. The best is yet to come for Brayan Rocchio.
