Merrill Kelly (shoulder) expects to resume throwing later this month.
Kelly needed surgery in September for thoracic outlet syndrome, which is an ailment that has derailed many pitching careers, but the Diamondbacks showed faith in his ability to make a full recovery by exercising their $4.25 million option on him on November 1.
