2023 Player Outlook

2023 Recap: After a year in New York where Bauers slashed .202/.279/.413 with 12 home runs and 15 doubles in 84 games, Bauers made his way to the Brewers and the NL Central. When Bauers makes contact, the batted ball metrics are pretty impressive, especially last year's 18.7 percent barrel rate and .481 xSLG. However, while he manages to do a good job staying in the zone, his 13.7 percent swinging strike rate and 70.1 percent contact rate are a problem.

2024 Outlook: Bauers was looking like he was going to be the starting first baseman for Milwaukee, but once the team inked Rhys Hoskins to a deal, Bauers' spot in the lineup was taken over. Bauers provides some cheap power for fantasy managers, but his path to regular at-bats is blocked. If something were to happen to Hoskins or someone else that pushed him into regular at-bats, he could be a source of cheap power, but he can be added via free agency at that juncture.
