2023 Player Outlook
2023 Recap: Santos showed off a live arm last season as he averaged 98.8 miles per hour on his fastball and saved five games. Santos struck out a batter per inning while allowing just 0.27 home runs per nine innings. A 52.5% groundball rate helped here, but it was even more notable that just two balls were barreled up against him out of 201.
2024 Outlook: Instead of slotting in as the closer in Chicago, Santos is now third in line for saves in Seattle which certainly hurts his value. He still is a strong late inning option that we should keep an eye on, but he is no longer the sleeper he was a month ago.
