J. Bruce - LF
Jay Bruce homered off Gerrit Cole and walked twice Monday against the Yankees.
Bruce has a homer, a triple and a double after three games. He also has three walks, which is pretty amazing considering that's the same number he had in 51 games after he was traded to Philadelphia last year. He'll keep DHing against righties for the foreseeable future.

Aaron Nola is now lined up to start the first half of Wednesday's doubleheader against the Yankees.
Nola had been on tap for Tuesday's game, but it got postponed on Monday due to the coming effects of Tropical Storm Isaias. Zack Wheeler will pitch the nightcap versus New York on Wednesday.

Sonny Gray held the Indians to two runs -- one earned -- in six innings and struck out eight to win Monday.
For six innings at a time, Gray is pretty much as good as it gets right now. He completed seven innings just three times last year and it hasn't happened yet this season, but he's 3-0 with a 0.96 ERA and a 28/5 K/BB ratio.

Raisel Iglesias picked up his first save by protecting a one-run lead in the ninth Monday against the Indians.
Iglesias struck out two of the three batters he faced in a clean inning. It was his first save chance in four appearances this year, though he did pick up a win in Sunday's doubleheader.

Zach Plesac yielded three runs and four hits in seven innings Monday in a loss to the Reds.
Unfortunately, two of the four hits were homers, and Plesac just didn't have much margin for error while being matched up against Sonny Gray tonight. It's still quite impressive how he's managed to last 15 innings in his first two starts.

Franmil Reyes went 0-for-4 and struck out three times in Monday's loss to the Reds.
Reyes was off Sunday because of his early slump, and he wasn't likely to break out of it tonight against this current version of Sonny Gray. He'll get it going before long.

Jacob deGrom won for the first time this season after allowing two runs in six innings and striking out 10 against the Braves on Monday.
It's the first time since 2017 that deGrom has allowed at least two runs and won. Well, no, not really; it happened twice last year, though he never won a game in which he allowed more than two runs. DeGrom came into this one without a decision after allowing zero and two runs in his first two starts. He's 1-0 with a 2.12 ERA.

Wilson Ramos delivered a two-run homer and an RBI single against the Braves on Monday.
Good things happen when Ramos gets the ball in the air, and he's doing a little better in that area right now after topping the majors in groundball rate a year ago. The homer was his first of the season.
