Kansas City Royals @ Tampa Bay Rays

This game has an over-under set at 7.0, which is lowest on the slate, so we might want to avoid the offenses here but look at the pitchers. It also helps that this is a great pitcher’s park and we have two weaker offensive teams in action. Danny Duffy is pitching for the Royals, who will be making his first start off the DL, so there is a bit of hesitation if you are using him, as he could have an innings or pitch limit on him today. On the other side, we have Tyler Glasnow pitching for the Rays, who has looked solid since being traded from the Pirates. He has given up only one earned run in three of his last four starts, while racking up five or more strikeouts in three of those games. This game is the least likely see offensive explosions, so I’d look for just one-offs here, rather than a full stack. Lucas Duda has power with a .220 ISO. C.J. Cron isn’t too expensive .200 ISO. Jakob Bauers is also cheap with a .193 ISO. Alex Gordon , Hunter Dozier , and Salvador Pérez all have ISO’s over .150 vs RHP.

Atlanta Braves @ Miami Marlins

The Braves come in with an implied run total set at 4.45, which is one of the higher ones on the slate, so we should be looking here for some offense. They are facing off against Dan Straily , who is a fly ball pitcher and can be very home run prone. This isn’t the best hitter’s park, so it might be a stack or stay away type of situation. The Braves are generally expensive, but if you want home run upside, this might be the team. Ronald Acuna .280 ISO. Charlie Culberson .229 ISO. Ozzie Albies .197 ISO. Freddie Freeman .184 ISO. As for the Braves pitcher, Sean Newcomb , he is in a solid spot tonight. The Marlins have a .289 team wOBA vs LHP, which is fourth worst in the league, along with a team ISO of .115, which his dead last in the league. Looking like Newcomb will be the popular option on this slate, due to his matchup and his cheaper price.

Cincinnati Reds @ Chicago Cubs

Cole Hamels is on the bump for the Cubbies tonight and oh boy has he looked good since being traded. In his four starts with the Cubs, he has only allowed two earned runs, while racking up 23 strikeouts. Simply amazing stuff from the veteran, which should put him at the top of your list for pitching options tonight. He is the most expensive pitcher on both sites tonight, but the consistency is there and should be one of the safer options on the slate. With that said, not really looking toward the Reds’ bats for any offense tonight, the only reason to go there would be for tournament value, which would be a solid contrarian play. Anthony DeSclafani is pitching for the Reds tonight and he comes in giving up a .361 wOBA to lefties, along with 2.70 HR/9. Those are some really bad numbers, which will put the Cubs hitters in a great spot tonight. Look for them to be popular, but certainly have plenty of upside, since we could be seeing a bit of wind in play, as is customary at Wrigley Field. Kyle Schwarber .292 ISO. Javier Báez .246 ISO. Anthony Rizzo .223 ISO. Ian Happ .209 ISO. Ben Zobrist .173 ISO. Daniel Murphy .155 ISO.

Oakland Athletics @ Minnesota Twins

This game has an over-under set at 9.5, which is highest on the slate, so this is where we may want to look for some offense. Two pitchers on the mound, Trevor Cahill for Oakland and Kohl Stewart for Minnesota, are not to be feared and you should be willing to stack against them. Both teams are decently expensive and with the lack of value options on the slate tonight, it could be harder to jam them into one lineup. Still love the upside for the Athletics, since they have been hot as of late and can put up home runs in bunches. Matt Olson .311 ISO. Khris Davis .307 ISO. Matt Chapman .237 ISO. Chad Pinder .223 ISO. On the Twins side of things, they are still a good stacking option and you should be looking to have exposure to them, so add them into your lineups as you have the salary available. Eddie Rosario .248 ISO. Miguel Sano .209 ISO. Bobby Wilson .200 ISO. Tyler Austin .194 ISO. Jorge Polanco .190 ISO.
