Los Angeles Angels

The Angels are likely going to be a popular stack tonight, but oh boy are they in a good spot tonight. They are at home against Danny Duffy , who is bad, no VERY bad against right-handed hitters. He is giving up a .267 wOBA to lefties, which is very respectable, but he is giving up a .393 wOBA to right-handed hitters. When the Angels are up against a left-handed pitcher, they generally roll out seven right-handed hitters in their lineup. This gives a righty hitter stack plenty of upside, since Duffy is giving up 2.32 HR/9 to righties. Duffy simply struggles all-around with right-handed hitters, an 11.5% walk rate, a 45% fly ball rate, a 40% hard contact rate, and has given up 13 of his 14 home runs to righties. Mike Trout and Justin Upton are the top plays for the Angels but don’t forget about Andrelton Simmons , Albert Pujols , Ian Kinsler or Zack Cozart . They are all in a good spot tonight, so mix and match them depending on the salary you have available.

Arizona Diamondbacks

The Diamondbacks come in with an implied run total of 3.7, which is third lowest on the slate, but they have some nice power upside today. They are facing off against Derek Holland , who looks to be pretty popular tonight. Holland isn’t a great pitcher but should see a good amount of ownership simply due to the fact he is a punt play. Holland is giving up a .358 wOBA to right-handed hitters this season, along with 1.76 HR/9 to them as well. This may not be the best hitter’s park, but they make a nice contrarian play what should be a popular SP2 tonight. Arizona is starting to turn things around after a very rough month of May, and have scored 42 runs over their last six games. The right-handed hitters are the ones you want to target today for the power upside. Paul Goldschmidt should be on top of your list with his three home runs in his last 10 games. John Ryan Murphy is cheap on FanDuel and comes in with five home runs in his last 10 games. Also consider Chris Owings , Nick Ahmed or Ketel Marte for some salary relief.

Atlanta Braves

The Braves as a team are very interesting to stack tonight, since they have a low implied team total, but have good success against lefties this season. They come in with a 120 wRC+ and a .180 ISO vs left-handed pitchers this season as a team, along with a 17% strikeout rate which is lowest in the entire league. This means they are aren’t striking out and missing opportunities, along with having some solid power upside. This is a bit of a negative park shift for them since they are in San Diego, which is a strong pitchers park. Tonight they are up against Clayton Richard , who is giving up 1.40 HR/9 to righties this year. Ozzie Albies , Johan Camargo , Dansby Swanson , Freddie Freeman , or Kurt Suzuki should all be in play tonight.
