Milwaukee Brewers

The Brewers are up against the Pirates and Chad Kuhl , who is having an up and down start to the season, and he’s good to pick on today. Kuhl has given up 18 earned runs in his six starts along with 10 walks in that span. He is getting himself in trouble and then the damage comes as he has given up three or more earned runs in four of his six starts. Kuhl is giving up a .478 wOBA to left-handed hitters, along with 3.46 HR/9 this season. Those are some rough numbers, which won’t play well in this favorable hitter’s park. The Brewers come in with an implied run total of 4.64, which is in the top tier for today. If he is struggling this much against lefties, you want to start off your stack with Travis Shaw and Christian Yelich , both of whom, have great lefty/righty splits. Eric Sogard is also a lefty, and will have the platoon advantage, but is more of a salary saver today. Lorenzo Cain also has solid numbers vs right-handed pitchers, so don’t be afraid to play him.

Minnesota Twins

The Twins are up against a favorite gas can of the DFS community, James Shields . Yes, he has some terrible numbers, which provide plenty of opportunities to stack against. Last season, Shields gave up a .388 wOBA to left-handed hitters, along with 2.82 HR/9 to lefties, and 1.44 HR/9 to right-handed hitters. Those are some truly weak numbers, which will allow you to stack up really whoever you want from the Twins. On FanDuel, the most expensive Twins’ players is only $4K, so getting four players into your lineups isn’t too hard. They are slightly more expensive on DraftKings, but with Shields being so bad against both types of hitters, you can pick and choose whoever you need, based on salary or positions you need to fill. Eduardo Escobar , Brian Dozier , Eddie Rosario and Max Kepler should be the top targets when you are going for the stack.

Atlanta Braves

The Braves are up against Giants rookie pitcher Andrew Suarez , who only has two starts under his belt this year, and has looked good but not great. In those two starts, he has 12 strikeouts, only one walk, while giving up six earned runs. The strikeouts are good, but the earned runs are not, which most likely stem from his 50% hard contact rate. It should be noted that both of his starts were at home in San Fran, which is a great pitchers park. He is not on the road against a dangerous Braves team and will have a negative park shift against him. He is giving up 3.52 HR/9 to right-handed hitters this season, but remember, only two starts under his belt. I would be looking at the right-handed hitters for the Braves, Ozzie Albies , Ronald Acuna , Tyler Flowers , and even José Bautista , who recently joined the team.
