Toronto Maple Leafs at Boston Bruins

This is it, Game 7. Nothing better than an elimination game in the playoffs, and we are in for a good one tonight. We’ve had a very back and forth series with the Maple Leafs winning the last two games, and the Bruins have one final chance to win the series on home ice. Four of the six games in this series have gone over 5.5 goals, so we should in for a high scoring game. We are going be focusing the special one-game slates on FanDuel and DraftKings. On DraftKings you select six flex players, with the option to pick a goalie. On FanDuel, there are no goalies, but you pick four forwards, two defenders, and one player, who is the captain of your team, who will receive 1.5x points. This opens up a few different ways to build your roster, but let’s take a look at players who have the purest point upside.

On the Bruins, their top player this series is David Pastrnak, who has 11 points over this series. He has been one of their most consistent offensive players throughout the regular season. He is on the first forward line and the first power-play and based on how he is playing, the offensive upside is there. In this format, the question becomes, how much stacking should you be doing? I think there should some amount of stacking in this, and stick to the line combos if possible. For other options on the Bruins, look at Torey Krug who is a defender on the first power-play, or Charlie McAvoy who is on the second power-play. Zdeno Chara is a veteran, who is a bit of a cheaper option and has plenty of historic success in the playoffs. Along the savings look at, David Backes, Rick Nash, or Jake DeBrusk.

For the Maple Leafs, you want to look at their top two power-plays, as that is where most of the offense comes from. James van Riemsdyk and Mitch Marner, who have been two of the better players for Toronto this series. They both have 13 or more shots this series, along with two or goals this series. Those are the two players you want to be trying to get into your lineups to start. Auston Matthews has been very disappointing this series, with only two points so far, but has taken 23 shots. I see him as a very fringe option, and would rather stick to the other players I mentioned instead of paying that price. The Maple Leafs have an implied team total of 2.39 goals, which is low, so temper your expectations for their offense tonight.
