We return to normalcy this week with PGA and MLB picks on Wednesday. I will admittedly be sad to see the NBA go after my 3-pick NBA entry hit last week. Of course, the PGA will always be my first love, and I am thrilled to get to make my PGA picks and write the PGA DFS Playbook for FantasyAlarm this week. Check it out for my thoughts on more players you can pick for PrizePicks, and as always be sure to check out the MLB DFS Playbook to get expert thoughts on several of the MLB players you can pick for PrizePicks. This week we’ll go with 2-pick entries for both sports. Good Luck!

Steve’s PGA Picks for Wednesday, May 8:

Jordan Spieth

Projected Fantasy Points:22.0

OVER

Spieth has struggled by his standards, but he has still made seven of his last eight cuts, and he finished 21st in this tournament last year. Spieth ranks 38th in Round 1 Scoring Average, and this is very nearly the lowest total of the day.

Brooks Koepka

Projected Fantasy Points: 23.5

UNDER

He doesn’t show up for non-majors, and he doesn’t do well as a frontrunner. I’ll almost never pick him to go over in a weak field like this, even if his game does seem to fit the golf course. It also doesn’t hurt that Koepka ranks 152nd in Round 1 Scoring Average.

Ryan Moore

Projected Fantasy Points: 22.0

UNDER

Moore does not have the benefit of having played this course last season, and it doesn’t appear to suit his game. Moore ranks 186th in driving distance this season and 118th in Par 4 birdie or better. That’s not going to get it done.

Russell Knox

Projected Fantasy Points: 21.5

OVER

I’m not sure I understand why he has the lowest point total of the bunch today. Knox finished 16th here last year, and I think his game is even more well suited to this course if the wind picks up. Knox ranks 22nd in Strokes Gained: Approach and 36th in Round 1 Scoring Average.

Steve’s MLB Picks for Wednesday, May 8:

Kyle Hendricks vs. Miami Marlins (Jose Urena, RHP)

Projected Fantasy Points: 37.5

OVER

Kyle Hendricks has only gone over twice this season, but they have been two of his last three starts. Hendricks has allowed more than one walk in a game just once this season, but Joe Maddon doesn’t always let him go deep into games. That is my only concern against a Marlins lineup that mostly belongs in Triple-A

Curtis Granderson at Chicago Cubs (Kyle Hendricks, RHP)

Projected Fantasy Points: 5.5

UNDER

Granderson is 3-for-13 with one walk and four strikeouts in his career against Kyle Hendricks. Granderson is batting .177 on the season, and even playing in his home town isn’t going to help him.

Anthony Rizzo vs. Miami Marlins (Jose Urena, R)

Projected Fantasy Points: 7.0

OVER

After a slow start, Rizzo is batting .318 with three home runs and nine RBI in May. There is no reason to be afraid of Jose Urena or Miami’s bullpen.

Jose Altuve vs. Kansas City Royals (Jorge Lopez, RHP)

Projected Fantasy Points: 8.5

OVER

Altuve has struggled a bit this season, but he still has nine home runs. Lopez has struggled so far this season, and this is an excellent opportunity for Altuve to get right.
