Prize Picks: Optimal Lineups - April 3
Steve Pimental takes a look at Prize Picks props for both the NBA and MLB slate
The MLB season is obviously in full swing, and excitement remains high. Of course, the NBA season is still going strong, and PrizePicks has a great incentive to keep playing NBA entries. For today only, PrizePicks is offering 25% cash back on NBA losses. Of course, if you play my NBA picks tonight, I don’t anticipate any losses, but it is nice to have that safety net nonetheless. If you have been on the fence about giving PrizePicks a try, now is obviously a great time. I’m playing a 4-pick NBA entry and a 3-pick MLB entry this week and as always, my picks are listed in order of preference.
Nikola Vucevic vs New York Knicks
Projected Fantasy Points: 47.8
In three games against the Knicks this season, Nikola Vucevic is averaging 53.0 fantasy points, and he topped 47.8 fantasy points in two of those three games. None of the Knicks bigs scare me defensively, and it probably helps that Orlando is still fighting for a playoff spot.
Andre Drummond vs. Indiana Pacers
Projected Fantasy Points:
I’m assuming Blake Griffin is out again, but I will simply switch to Under if Blake plays. Andre Drummond has scored at least 54.9 fantasy points in four of the five games Blake Griffin has missed this season, including at Indiana two days ago.
Shaquille Harrison at Washington Wizards
Projected Fantasy Points: 31.4
Shaq Harrison has topped 31.4 fantasy points in three of his four games since Kris Dunn went down. He also had 36.2 fantasy points against Washington two weeks ago with Dunn still in the lineup. Washington barely plays any defense, and Shaq has become the defacto scorer and playmaker with Chicago’s entire starting lineup out.
Bobby Portis vs. Chicago Bulls
Projected Fantasy Points: 34.0
Bobby Portis had just over 31 fantasy points in both of his games against his former team this season despite shooting worse than 37 percent both times. Portis has been remarkably inconsistent in the last week or so, but I have to think he bounces back after shooting 1-9 from the field at Denver Sunday
Projected Fantasy Points: 43.5
In four starts against Texas last season, Cole topped 43.5 fantasy points three times, including two 60-point games. Cole had 48 fantasy points in his first start of 2019 despite getting the loss, and it obviously helps that the Astros are -220 favorites in this game.
Projected Fantasy Points: 7.5
Alex Bregman owns a .391 career wOBA against left-handed pitchers. Mike Minor got lit up by Javier Báez and Kris Bryant in his first start of the season, and I don’t see any reason to believe this game will be any different.
Projected Fantasy Points: 7.5
I don’t love the idea of putting all of my eggs in one basket, so to speak, but I just love Houston’s right-handed bats against a weak lefty in Mike Minor . Springer is 5-for-15 with two doubles in his career against Mike Minor , and he has a .936 OPS so far this season.
Projected Fantasy Points: 6.5
Schwarber is 3-for-6 in his career against Julio Teheran , and while that’s not really the reason I’m picking Schwarber to go over, it doesn’t hurt. Schwarber is 5-for-12 with two home runs in four games this season, and he has a .863 career OPS against righties.
