One of the things I like about DFS that is especially true about WNBA contests is how different the game can be from one slate to the next. On Friday I felt like just about all of the top forwards were in play. In Sunday’s slate, with Minnesota and New York playing what will likely be a low-scoring game, you should prepare to be far more selective with the top players. I’m still filling out my lineups with cheaper players first, but unlike Friday, there aren’t too many of those worth playing. Sunday’s slate should be a good one for mid-priced players, especially in GPP contests where you can find cheaper players capable of going off in pretty decent matchups.

Player FanDuel Price  DraftKings Price Comments
Plenette Pierson, F, MIN $  3,000 $        4,300Pierson will likely be extremely popular, especially on FanDuel, after she had 10 points, six rebounds and four assists in her first start of the season Friday. Pierson is probably better for cash lineups because she will be so popular, but she proved Friday she can provide nice value in any format.
Erica Wheeler, G, IND $  5,100 $        7,800Wheeler was awful Friday, going 2-12 from the field in 19 minutes. At this point, you can't say she is neccessarily safe, but she scored 33 points against the Liberty less than two weeks ago. Wheeler is a worthy GPP play, and I would probably be fine using her in cash lineups as well. At the very least, her usage should remain high.
Briann January, G, IND $  4,200 $        5,500January will likely have to pick up some of the scoring slack with Tiffany Mitchell out. January played just 24 minutes Friday, but she will likely play at least 30 Sunday unless the game gets out of hand.
Candice Dupree, F, MIN $  6,800 $        8,900Even after a middling performance against Minnesota Friday, Candice Dupree is averaging 20.0 points and 5.8 rebounds in August. Indiana has leaned heavily on Dupree for scoring, especially with Tiffany Mitchell out, and she should be a solid cash game play.
Shatori Walker-Kimbrough, G, WAS $  3,000 $        4,000Shatori Walker-Kimbrough is averaging 11.8 ppg in 20.6 mpg in August, and she still costs the minimum on FanDuel. She is a solid punt play for cash lineups, especially if Natasha Cloud is out again.
Krystal Thomas, F, WAS $  6,300 $        8,500Krystal Thomas has two double-doubles this season, and they both came against Indiana. At the very least, Thomas is a good bet to get double-digit points or rebounds, and she has a chance to be a difference-maker in GPP lineups if she gets another double-double.
Maya Moore, F, MIN $  7,400 $     11,300Plenette Pierson outscored Maya Moore Friday, but Moore has been great against the Liberty, averaging 21.5 points, 8.0 rebounds, 3.5 assists and 1.5 steals in two games against New York. It is hard to ever trust Moore for cash lineups, but she gives you a shot at elite GPP production at a discount price.
Breanna Stewart, F, SEA $  8,300 $     12,900Stewie had 25 points, 11 rebounds and three assists in her only game against the Sky this season. She has scored at least 28.5 fantasy points on FanDuel in each of her last 16 games.
Brittney Griner, F, PHO $  8,300 $     12,600Griner played 34 minutes Friday and had a double-double, and still scored fewer points than when she returned from her knee and ankle injuries.
Emma Meesseman, F, WAS $  7,800 $     11,200On Friday, Emma Meesseman failed to score more than 30 fantasy points on DraftKings for just the third time in her last 10 games. She followed each of her two previous poor performances by scoring 50+ fantasy points. I'm not predicting 50 fantasy points, but it is on the table, and anything fewer than 30 fantasy points would be pretty shocking. Meesseman is averaging 15.0 points, 5.5 rebounds, 5.0 assists and 2.0 blocks against Indiana this season.
Allie Quigley, G, CHI $  7,200 $     10,000Quigley has scored at least 15 points in seven consecutive games, and unlike her teammate Courtney Vandersloot, she doesn't have to have a 20-point double-double to justify her price. Vandersloot clearly has the higher ceiling, but Quigley is cheaper and safer.
Sue Bird, G, SEA $  4,700 $        6,200Bird's price is as low as it has been all season, but despite some poor games in August, she has had at least 14 points and four assists in two of her last three games. You probably can't trust Bird for cash lineups, but I'm want to try to take advantage of her price in GPP contests. The Sky have allowed the second-most points in the WNBA this season, and no team has allowed more assists or steals, which definitely helps Bird's case.
Jasmine Thomas, G, CON $  5,300 $        7,900Thomas scored 15 points in 13 minutes before she injured her knee against Phoenix two weeks ago. She appears to be healthy after playing 30 minutes Friday, and she had a decent chance at her sixth 30+ fantasy point effort.
