Afternoon everyone. I’m putting the Nomad in @FantasyNomad today as I’m traveling to the “D.” No not to pitch in their bullpen, although at this point even you or I might be an upgrade from the relief arms the Tigers have been using this year. Quickly, before I get right into today’s daily league recommendations I do want to point out how at least one of our readers is also using the DFS Playbook to help them in their season long leagues, too, which could benefit you as well:
Charles from Texas on a recent call in to the Fantasy Alarm Daily Show (6-7pm ET M-F on Sirius/XM Fantasy Sports Channel for those of you who have satellite radio) said that he uses the DFS Playbook to gain insight on whether he should start, sit, or stream a pitcher in his season long league that allows for daily moves. While the DFS Playbook’s main focus is on providing you with recommendations for daily fantasy site play Charles does bring up another indirect way the Playbook can be used to your advantage if you also play in season long leagues. Some of you may have already figured that out, but just in case it didn’t quite dawn on you, now you have another way to use the Playbook to your advantage elsewhere.
Thanks Charles for the kind words on how much you like the work Jeff Mans and I have been doing here and for sharing with us that insight. We appreciate the feedback and hopefully more of you will also take advantage of the comments section below, as Charles did in Tuesday’s article, and remember you can always tweet @FantasyNomad and/or @Jeff_Mans as well.
Starting Pitcher Picks of the Night
Pitcher | Pos. | DraftKings | DraftStreet | FanDuel | Reasons |
Jeff Samardzija @Pirates | P | $8,900 | $17,259 | $7,700 | Slight price drop after allowing more runs in his second to most recent start then he practically allowed in his 10 starts combined prior to his June 1st start. Sale is also a sexy pick as he will be favored vs Tigers for just the 2nd time in his career but will cost you $2K-plus then the Shark. |
Kyle Lohse @Mets | P | $8,700 | $16,302 | $7,000 | Would use Lohse in either cash or GPP games vs a Mets team that has the 4th worst team OPS vs RHP, but I would favor Lohse even more so in a GPP because I feel many will shy away from using him tonight as he is coming off his worst outing of the season. |
Roenis Elias vs Yankees | 8600 | 12471 | 1751 | More of a GPP play and on DS and FD where price is discounted, would rather pay few dollars more and take the Shark on DK over Elias who |
Discounted Hitter of the Night: Kyle Seager
Top teams to stack: Houston home vs DBacks LHP Wade Miley, Blue Jays at BAL vs RHP Gausman, and Sneaky Stack of the Night (if you don't count the Astros) Mariners home vs NYY RHP Chase Whitley
