Hopefully Hump Day treated you well. I know Tuesday’s picks were pretty on point for the most part and hopefully you liked the new editions to the Playbook. Thanks to @jcrag24 @bradzipro @PhamilyMan and @jintman for their feedback on what they would like to see added to the Playbook. If any of you have some suggestions they would be much appreciated as we do this for you. And when I say “suggestions” I don’t mean like “Hey Nomad I suggest you never again recommend Ike Davis.”

Look forward to hearing your input and I have one suggestion for you, that I mentioned in Tuesday’s article (ICYMI): Hopefully you have fallen into the habit of following our Player News feed here at FantasyAlarm.com, especially prior to game time. We keep you up to date on who is in and out of the lineup, weather, and with additional DFS fantasy insight to give you a last minute edge over the competition. Here is just one recent example, if you were following our player news, of where you could have benefited:

Ed Lucas: The player news piece was on Casey McGahee, but look a little further for the nugget you may have missed if you have yet to be checking our player news. (Click on items in blue throughout article as they are linked for more insight).

Good luck tonight and as always if you have a specific question remember you can always tweet @FantasyNomad and/or post in the comments section below.

Nathan EovaldiP9,30020,9987,200Eovaldi's 1st pitch strike% equal to teammate Jose Fernadez's at 65.4% (top 15 in NL), as of two weeks ago he had lowest career run support of any current starter, but things are different this year as he has recieved 3 or more runs of support in 6 of his 8 starts as the Marlins 2nd in the NL in runs scored
Wei-Yin ChenP7,40015,8116,100While others would rather Yang than Yin consider Chen has not allowed more than 2 runs over his last 5 starts (2.97 ERA), his 5.1 BB% (1.97 K/9) both inside top 15 among AL starters, and game in pitcher friendly KC
Tyler SkaggsP7,70012,7036,100GPP only as upside is limited. Interesting more than anything: Angels have won five of last six games and are 6-1 in games. Skaggs could be in line for some run support as the team is 2nd in the AL in team OPS vs LHP this season.

Six Pack of Hitters for the Night:

  1. Yan Gomes

  2. Joey Votto

  3. Asdrubal Cabrera

  4. Todd Frazier

  5. Brett Gardner

  6. Curtis Granderson

Giancarlo Stanton, Mike Trout, Albert Pujols, Jose Bautista, Edwin Encarnacion all obviously in play if you can afford any of them.

Discounted Dandy Hitter of the Night: Indians SS Asdrubal Cabrera

Joey Votto1B4,8007,2913,600Hitting .338 with all 6 HR at home
Mark Teixeira1B4,7006,6243,7003 HR over last 6 gms and 7 of his 8 HR when hitting from left side of the plate
Garrett Jones1B3,8004,1832,600Taken Cain deep twice in just 19 AB
Rickie Weeks2B3,0006,0423,000Hitting .538 (7-13) over last 4 gms; 14-47 (.298) w/ 2 HR career vs Wandy
Daniel Murphy2B4,9007,3554,200.391 (18-46) w/ 3 HR, 3 SB, and 7 BB to 3 K over last 11 games; has 6 gm hit streak going and has homered twice in last 4 gms
Jose ReyesSS5,2008,6483,800All 3 HR vs RHP, hits better at home unsurprisingly, and hitting .348 (8-23) with 4 extra-base hits over last 6 games. A cheaper alternative could be Padres Everth Cabrera
Asdrubal CabreraSS4,6006,2153,10014 for 30 (.467) with 2 of his 3 HR over his last 7 games and game is in Rogers Centre (top HR hitting park in AL since start of last season)
Yangervis Solarte3B4,3006,0993,300.364 (24-66) w/ all 4 HR vs RHP this year and 3 of the 4 coming on the road
Todd Frazier3B4,5006,5153,400The new papa hitting about 75 points higher at home at .300 with all 7 HR coming at GABP and 6 of them off RHP
Michael BrantleyOFNotInLUHaving a career yr, at least 1 hit in all but 1 gm this month w/ 3 HR, gets J.A. Happ-less, and people may shy away from him if he is in the LU since he was removed from Wed. game early
Khris DavisOF3,0005,5182,800trending upward as he's 3 for 5 with two doubles over last 2 gms and his hitting .400 (12-30) vs LHP this season compared to .178 vs RHP
Eric Young Jr.OF   His 28 runs scored lead the Mets and his 15 stolen bases are second in all of baseball behind Dee Gordon's 24.
Skip SchumakerOF3,7004,6832,300LvsR matchup & did bat in the 2-hole in Game 1, so if there in Game 2 that only increases his upside
Billy HamiltonOF4,10010,2003,500Hitting 110 points higher at .284 w/ a .318 OBP from the left-side
Brett GardnerOF4,2006,6183,700Hitting .346 over last 6 gms w/ 3 extra-base hits and two steals and has LvsR matchup against a pitcher making MLB debut
Travis SniderOF2,7004,7702,300LvsR matchup vs Gallardo, in hitter friendly Miller Park, and all 3 of Lunch Box Hero's HR this year have come of RHP and on the road.
