We are all aware of what’s going on in Houston and our thoughts and prayers go out to everybody dealing with that tragedy. In this edition of DFS MLB Stacks, we are focused on weather as well. We already have one game - Indians at Yankees -  PPD due to weather.  We will also be avoiding Seattle/Baltimore and Braves/Phillies.  In addition, we aren’t going to include the obvious choice of the Rockies in Colorado tonight as they will be so heavily owned, it doesn’t do us much good.

So, who does that leave us?  Well, let’s take a look.

HOUSTON ASTROS

Hopefully the Astros can put aside their worries on the homefront and take care of business tonight against Martin Perez at the Trop in Tampa.  That game was moved from Houston for obvious reasons and Vegas seems to think the ‘Stros will put up some runs with an implied run total of 5.78. Let’s hope the Martin Perez  that surrendered six-earned runs to the White Sox two starts ago and not so much of the seven-inning shutout of the Angels in his last start. Perez is inconsistent and the Astros are packed with plenty of power to give a nice return on a stack tonight.

Best Bets: OF George Springer; 2B Jose Altuve; 3B Alex Bregman; OF Marwin Gonzalez

Value Plays: C Evan Gattis; 1B Yulieski Gurriel; OF J.D. Davis

CINCINNATI REDS

The Reds come in at 9th in team wRC+ over the last two weeks and it’s all setting up for a big night of fireworks at Great American Ballpark. That venue is the first reason. Secondly, the opposing starting pitcher, the Mets’ Chris Flexen has a 5.79 ERA and 1.93 WHIP this season in six starts. Not that it needs any help but there is going to be a slight breeze blowing out to right tonight at the GAB. You could consider a game stack here if you want to include some of those White Sox bats against Sal Romano too.

Best Bets: 1B Joey Votto; SS Zack Cozart; OF Adam Duvall; 3B Eugenio Suarez

Value Plays: 2B Scooter Gennett; OF Billy Hamilton; C Tucker Barnhart

MINNESOTA TWINS

The Twins are on one of those hot stretches that you’d like to associate with when stacking on a team. They are posting a 121 wRC+ over the last two weeks of play and that ranks 2nd in all of baseball during that time frame. They are facing James Shields at Target Field. Shields, is, well, not very good on the whole despite limiting his opponents to three earned runs or less in his last four starts. To me, that screams “he’s due!”  He gives up the long ball and Target Field has been Coors North this season - ranking fourth in runs and sixth in homers amongst all 30 MLB parks. Jump on some of these Twinkies tonight and smile as you rack up the points.

Best Bets: 2B Brian Dozier; OF Eddie Rosario; 3B Jorge Polanco; 1B Domingo Santana

Value Plays: 1B Joe Mauer; OF Max Kepler; C Chris Gimenez

Best of luck to you tonight in your MLB DFS contests.
