Okay, we know the obvious choice for a stack is a game stack in that Diamondbacks/Rockies matchup at Coors Field, right? We know that. With a solid but struggling Zack Greinke on the mound, we can feel confident in Rockies bats and the Diamondbacks have the highest IRT from Vegas (by a good margin, by the way) against German Marquez tonight. Even though this is a common stack strategy, there are still a lot of options and combinations to choose from. The challenge is more so in the right bats to choose. On DraftKings, you can load up on this game, filling all eight of your hitters spots with Rockies and D-Backs. The real question is how do you spread it out?

Assuming you are going cheap at starting pitcher, and we can find some values there in a full slate, let’s just focus on our eight Rockies/D-Backs hitters. Where do we go?  First, let’s examine the starting pitchers to see if we can find any weaknesses in their profiles to exploit. Zack Greinke has been really good this year overall, but as we mentioned, recently he’s hit some speed bumps. He has seen the Rockies twice this year in back-to-back starts in late April-early May. He performed admirably in those starts with a combined five earned runs and 16 strikeouts with one start at home in Arizona and the other at Coors Field. Greinke is having similar success against lefties and righties, so we can’t do too much there. Maybe we should focus on the players with the most experience against him for our Rockies bats then. Those would be:

OF Carlos Gonzalez :: 13-for-36 (.361) with four homers - $3,600

1B Mark Reynolds :: 7-for-27 (.259) with four homers - $4,600

SS Trevor Story :: 5-for-15 (.333) with three homers - $4,300

We can add in the projected catcher - Tony Wolters ($3,100) - as our fourth Rockies hitter and we’re on our way.

On to the D-Backs. Since we didn’t have to spend the highest total on the Rockies, with CarGo providing a bit of salary relief due to recent struggles, we can spend more on the Diamondbacks big bats to help bolster our double stacked roster here. Rockies starter German Marquez has been better than expected with a 5-3 record and a 4.19 ERA. He doesn’t seem to have any glaring LH/RH splits as he’s allowing a .335 wOBA vs. RHP and .331 vs. LHB. He hasn’t been around long enough to get a true sense of anybody having a sustained record of success against him - though, Paul Goldschmidt is 4-for-5 with two homers, so you can take that into account if you so choose. Let’s fill in our open positions with Diamondbacks that we expect to get in the action.

2B - Brandon Drury - $4,700

3B - Jake Lamb - $5,600

OF - David Peralta - $5,000

OF - Gregor Blanco - $4,900

As you can see, you’re having to pay up quite a bit due to an already solid offense going into Coors Field. This leaves us with just $7,100 average for our two starting pitchers tonight. I’ll head over to Ben Scherr’s Playbook to help fill in with our starters.

On DraftKings, we’ll go with Mike Leake ($7,700)  and Brandon McCarthy ($6,400) to make this work.

Other stack options tonight include:

Toronto Blue Jays vs. Nick Martinez -- Kevin Pillar, Josh Donaldson, Jose Bautista, Kendrys Morales, Justin Smoak, Russell Martin

Cleveland Indians vs. Chris Tillman -- Francisco Lindor, Jason Kipnis, Jose Ramirez, Edwin Encarnacion, Carlos Santana

New York Yankees vs. Parker Bridwell -- Brett Gardner, Aaron Judge, Matt Holliday, Starlin Castro, Gary Sanchez, Didi Gregorius

Good luck tonight!
