Welcome to the DFS MLB Playbook for Monday, June 5th

We have an abbreviated seven-game main slate tonight starting at 7:10 PM CT. So, we’ll abbreviate the Playbook a bit today to show you the best plays and value options at each position to narrow it down for you when setting your lineups for tonight. Of the 14 pitchers on the slate tonight, we have one “ace” in Carlos Martinez taking the hill against a top offense in a tough venue (Cincinnati). He’s sure to be owned at a very high rate. We have another pitcher, in Jeff Samardzija, who has been pitching like an ace before a tough outing last time out. Other than that, there are a bunch of unknowns. Meaning, there are plenty of hitter options, we just have to do everything we can to identify the top arms of the day and then stack on the worst ones. Not a whole lot different than a full slate, but it’s more difficult to be different when playing in the big tournaments.

I'll do my best to keep up with great work done this weekend by Ben Scherr (Friday) and Kenneth Le (Saturday and Sunday). They both freakin' killed it. Hopefully, you were able to cash in.

There are some chances of thunderstorms in Atlanta tonight and could become an issue for that one. We’ll keep a close eye on things as they develop throughout the day and keep you updated in the Weather Center.
