I am back on a Monday, filling in for Steve with today’s Stack the Deck column. We are preparing our GPP lineups for today’s 10 game DFS MLB slate with a roster lock of 7:05 PM ET/4:05 PM PT.

Tonight will be an interesting one because there will be many ways to construct a lineup with a pitching staff that’s relatively cheap (*cough* Trevor Cahill *cough*), which will open up plenty of salary for your hitting. There’s also the Chicago Cubs making their way to Coors Field, after playing a marathon Sunday Night game against the Yankees.

With just 10 games tonight, I am going to focus on FOUR GPP stack that you need to consider to score big in your GPP tournaments. Keep in mind, the stacks will definitely be listed according to my order of preference.

   LOS ANGELES DODGERS

Trevor Williams is making his first start of the season tonight. Let’s just say, Williams might be a reincarnation of Wild Thing, because he hasn’t been able to put together his command out of the bullpen. Only 44.1% of his pitches have been inside the strike zone this season, and that’s going to fill up the bases for the heart of the Dodgers lineup.

This is headlined by Cody Bellinger, who continues to be underpriced, even though he has been one of the hottest batters in baseball. He even helped me with a big GPP night on Friday with a DOUBLE DONG performance. Besides Bellinger, you can fill up the lineup with multiple Dodgers left-handed bats, including the always affordable Andrew Toles

In fact, Toles and Bellinger are so inexpensive, that I would consider stacking them in cash games (100% on DK).

By the way, even though I mentioned Trevor Williams’s command, I should also point out that he’s a little home run prone. Through 24.1 Major League Innings, he has allowed six home runs, which gives him a HR/9 of 2.22. Plus, in limited action in 2017, 52.8% of batted balls in play have been fly balls.

Players to consider: Andrew Toles, Corey Seager, Justin Turner, Yasmani Grandal, Cody Bellinger, and Yasiel Puig

   NEW YORK YANKEES

The Yankees are firing on all cylinders right now. They are getting contributions from 1 through 9 (8 if you’re talking interleague play), and they’re doing so in very impressive fashion thanks to the theatrics of Tight End…. errr…. Outfielder, Aaron Judge. Judge has racked up NINE home runs over his last 13 games. As I say all the time, that’s absolutely RIDICULOUS.

The main issue when stacking Yankees is that they’ve been rotating a few guys who would normally be at 1B/DH/OF with the interleague series. So yeah, I wouldn’t be counting on Matt Holliday being in the lineup.

They’ll be matched up against Rookie Davis, who never impressed throughout his five seasons in the minors, including four seasons with the Yankees organization. He has a terrible 6.04 xFIP to go with a 1.3% K-to-BB%. That’s bad. Very bad.

I honestly don’t mind stacking anyone on the Yankees who is in the lineup. But I definitely want Judge in there, and I also want Aaron Hicks, who has been filling the box score with numbers galore. He’s swinging a very confident bat and has been able to show off his speed as well.

Players to consider: Brett Gardner, Aaron Hicks, Aaron Judge, Starlin Castro, Gary Sanchez, and Chase Headley

   COLORADO ROCKIES

So Vegas really, really likes the Cubs, but I actually prefer the Rockies as a stack. I’ve made a good amount of $$$ stacking the Coors Field underdog over the years and tonight seems like a perfect spot with Jake Arrieta on the mound.

Arrieta is obviously a good pitcher, but he has been vulnerable at times this season, as we can see with his 1.54 HR/9. His fly ball rate has increased more than seven percentage points than at any point in his stay with the Cubs. We’ve seen time and time again when good pitchers have been shellshocked in the thin air, and tonight might be a candidate (let’s not think that this is off the wall considering the Rockies have an expected run total that’s over five). Let's not forget that the Cubs are TRAVELLING across the country after an 18 inning game.

Like Sunday, I love Mark Reynolds, who never gets much love, yet leads the Rockies in homers, which is forcing Ian Desmond to the outfield. Reynolds has homered in three consecutive games, which he has done plenty of times in his career, only this time around, he’s actually doing so while putting up a very respectable .321 average. There’s been plenty of times when Reynolds has been a Mendoza line hitter putting up those big power numbers.

Players to consider: Charlie Blackmon, DJ LeMahieu, Nolan Arenado, Mark Reynolds, Ian Desmond, and Dustin Garneau

   CINCINNATI REDS

I already mentioned the Yankees, so yes, I don’t mind going with a game stack here. The Reds will be very low owned because Masahiro Tanaka is a pitcher who many view as an Ace, even though he has regressed throughout his five year MLB career.

The Reds are coming off one of their best series of the season, outscoring the San Francisco Giants by a score of 31-5 throughout their three game series. It’s not just one player getting the job done for the Reds, it’s a handful of them. But it really starts with the top of the order, with Billy Hamilton swinging a hot bad and reeking havoc on the bases, and Zack Cozart stepping into the two-hole with ammunition. Cozart went 6-for-12 (.500 AVG) with two walks, five runs, and a home run. As for Hamilton, let’s talk about how his May has gone so far. He started off cold at the plate, but he’s been feisty, figuring things out this past weekend, and helping him go 11-for-31 (.355 AVG) with a homer, three TRIPLES, two doubles, four walks, eight RBIs, and of course, NINE stolen bases.

Players to consider: Billy Hamilton, Zack Cozart, Joey Votto, Adam Duvall, Scott Schebler, and Eugenio Suarez
