We struck gold last night with Yonder Alonso in 100% of my Optimal Lineups, so hopefully we can finish off the weekend with another big day. DraftKings will feature a true split slate with eight early games and seven afternoon games. On the other hand, FanDuel is going to feature a 10 game main slate that runs from the 1:10 PM ET games to the 3:37 PM ET game in Anaheim.

Weather has been absolutely brutal over the last week, and ironically, the weather should be safe for every game except the game in San Diego, where there are showers scheduled for most of the day.

Nevertheless, I will still be providing you with my five favorite stacks of the day  - arranged in my order of preference.  Let’s get this rolling!

SEATTLE MARINERS

Holy cow, does Andrew Cashner suck. His 0-3 record isn’t a surprise consider he can’t strike anyone out, has no command on any of his pitches, and can’t pitch deep into a game.

The Mariners are far and away my favorite stack of the day. You have one of the hottest leadoff hitters in the game Jean Segura constantly on base, and you’re starting to see production from guys like Robinson Cano and Nelson Cruz, who started off the season super cold.

There’s also a ton of value throughout the lineup with guys like Guillermo Heredia and Ben Gamel, who have been incredibly consistent since earning additional playing time. There’s just a ton to like about the Mariners today, and I don’t think they’re going to be as popular as they should be.

Players to consider: Jean Segura, Ben Gamel, Robinson Cano, Nelson Cruz, Kyle Seager, and Guillermo Heredia

COLORADO ROCKIES

I’m not going to spend too much time with one of the most obvious plays of the day. The Rockies are at home in Coors and they have the highest expected run total, hovering around six. I think the number is a little interesting because Taijuan Walker’s peripheral numbers has been better than what we’ve seen from him as a whole; however, it’s Coors Field, and it has a tendency to make anyone look bad.

Today, there’s a good chance that late swap will be your friend. The Rockies will tend to rest a player or two on Sunday games, and that could be a way to find some value.

Ian Desmond has faced Walker a few times thanks to his time with the Rangers last season, and went 4-for-8 (.500 AVG) with a homer. There’s also Mark Reynolds, who tends to be overlooked, who has homered in back-to-back games, and leads the team in home runs this season.

Players to consider: Charlie Blackmon, DJ LeMahieu, Nolan Arenado, Ian Desmond, Mark Reynolds, and Trevor Story (plus any non-regulars who may get the nod)

WASHINGTON NATIONALS

No Bryce Harper? No problem. The Nats are working on a four game winning streak as they look to finish off the Phillies with a sleep through a matchup with Jeremy Hellickson. Here’s the thing with Hellickson. Yes, a 4-1 record with a 3.18 ERA is impressive, but he has a 5.51 xFIP to go with a strikeout rate under 10%. That’s super bad and it makes Hellickson a candidate for a major blow up at any time.

Even with Harper (still check if he’s in the lineup), and to a lesser extent, Adam Eaton out, the Nationals have plenty of firepower to rock out a dangerous lineup at any given time. Ryan Zimmerman is having a career year, and has 13 home runs, which is just two homers shy of his 2016 number in 349 less at bats. He’s someone you can roster pretty comfortably on any given slate, and not have to worry about high ownership at his price and because of the position he plays (you have to sacrifice not playing someone else who is going to be very good).

Players to consider: Trea Turner, Michael Taylor, Jayson Werth, Ryan Zimmerman, Daniel Murphy, and Anthony Rendon

CHICAGO WHITE SOX

The White Sox are constantly one of the sneakiest plays on any given night. For the opposition, on paper, their lineup is nothing to be afraid of, but they have been able to pull through on a regular basis.

They will match up against Chris Tillman, who has been terrible in his rehab starts, combining for a 7.16 ERA and seven home runs over just four appearances. There’s a few guys with a good history against Tillman. This is highlighted by Melky Cabrera who is 11-for-27 (.407 AVG) with a homer and seven RBIs against the right-hander. There’s also Jose Abreu, who has gone 21-for-49 (.429 AVG) with five homers over his last 12 games. For those who did not play Yonder Alonso last night, he was another play that was able to pull threw on a night when Paul Goldschmidt had a rather tame night.

Players to Consider: Melky Cabrera, Leury Garcia, Jose Abreu, Avisail Garcia, Todd Frazier, and Tim Anderson

PITTSBURGH PIRATES

Vegas actually has the Pirates at an expected run total that is bunched up with a few other teams slightly below the expected crazy high numbers from Coors Field. The Pirates are a team that tends to be very low owned in GPP tournaments, and they’ve dipped even lower since Starling Marte’s suspension, and obviously with the low scoring games so far this series. Active Pirates are hitting .345/.429/.448 against Zach Davies of the Brewers, who has regressed significantly this season. His first two seasons featured an xFIP below four, which has ballooned to 4.94 this season. He is also allowing quite a few more fly balls, which in turn, has led to more home runs allowed.

As I was saying, the Pirates have had a bit of a rough week, but they’ve had some good play from Josh Bell, who continues to be a machine, going 6-for-12 (.500 AVG) with a homer, three doubles, and four runs scored. I am also impressed with the way Josh Harrison has been playing, putting together an OBP of .368, which is super high for someone with such a low walk rate. He’s 4-for-4 throughout his career against Davies, so he’s someone I definitely want in my lineups.

EDITOR NOTE: McCutchen, Harrison and Cervelli are out of today's lineup

Players to consider: Josh Harrison, Josh Bell, Andrew McCutchen, Gregory Polanco, and Francisco Cervelli
