Once again, Sunday’s edition of Stack the Deck will take a look at the best GPP stacks available for today’s Sunday All-Day slate. The good news is that there is no possible way that any game will be affected by the weather. The bad news is that things are probably going to be absolutely nuts today because there are a lot of bad pitchers starting. It’s not every day you’re going to see FOURTEEN (14) games have an O/U of EIGHT.

It’s going to take some creativity to stand out ahead of the pack, and I’m going to try my best to narrow things down for you guys by giving you my top five stacks of the day. Let’s get started!

PREFERRED STACKS (ARRANGED IN ORDER OF PREFERENCE)

CHICAGO CUBS

I wasn’t too enthused by the way the Cubs have been playing when the week started, but they’ve come around, and I’m definitely not surprised.

The club is getting key contributions from just about anyone on the roster, from Anthony Rizzo all the way down to Albert Almora. Now, I’m not sure if you guys know this, but Bronso Arroyo started his career back when I was into collecting Pogs and playing on a black and white Game Boy. He’s 40 years old, and I’m not sure how he’s still a Major League pitcher, but more power to him. Unfortunately, he’s not very good, and has allowed five homers over just 15 innings pitched this season.

Just about anyone on the Cubs lineup is going to be in play today. I do have a hunch that Miguel Montero will get a start considering he is 8-for-17 (.471 AVG) with three homers throughout his career against Arroyo. The funny thing with this matchup is that Montero actually caught Arroyo when he joined the D-Backs for a short run in 2014.

Players to consider: Everyone in the starting lineup, but you must play Montero if he’s starting

LOS ANGELES DODGERS

The Dodgers have allowed 24 runs to the D-Backs over the past two games. EL-OH-EL.

The truth of the matter is that the Dodgers and D-Backs have been playing at Chase Field, which is definitely one of the best hitters parks in the league. Things will turn around for the Dodgers, and I feel pretty good about it considering they’re going to be facing Shelby Miller.

Against active Dodgers, Shelby Miller has allowed an absolutely horrific line of .386/.429/.614 with two homers. Yes, that’s a 1.043 OPS to go with what amounts to a .444 wOBA.

I will consider going with a core of Andrew Toles, Corey Seager, Adrian Gonzalez, Yasiel Puig, and Joc Pederson. The five of them have combined to go 15-for-28 (.536 AVG) with two homers, a triple, three doubles, and seven RBIs against Miller.

Players to Consider: Andrew Toles, Corey Seager, Adrian Gonzalez, Yasiel Puig, Justin Turner, and Joc Pederson

SAN FRANCISCO GIANTS

So here’s the deal with the Giants. If you have been stacking them throughout the weekend at Coors, you probably haven’t won much money (though Friday wasn’t the worst). Regardless, it’s a situation where I expect their ownership to be lower than usual because of a) how expensive they are and b) how little production they’ve had at Coors.

Truth be told, they should be fine today against the young lefty, Kyle Freeland, who has been Colorado’s worst pitcher in 2017. He actually has some promise, but cannot figure out to maintain his command throughout the game. Believe it or not, only 39% of his pitches have been in the strike zone, which is a large reason why his BB/9 is pushing SIX. He also gives up a lot of contact, which could pose problems when it comes to pitching at Coors Field. There’s a reason why the Giants currently have the highest expected run total of the day, folks.

If Brandon Belt and Brandon Crawford get starts against the lefty, Freeland, I’d highly consider playing the both of them considering their ownership is going to be lower due to the lefty vs. lefty situation, and the fact that they’ve actually been decent against southpaws this season.

Players to Consider: Eduardo Nunez, Brandon Belt, Buster Posey, Hunter Pence, Chris Marrero, and Joe Panik

ST. LOUIS CARDINALS

The Cardinals have an impeccable 23 game home run streak going on at Miller Park, which dates back to September 5, 2014. It’s really no surprise when you consider how well the bulk of their roster performs against the Brewers.

Back in 2013-2014, Jimmy Nelson, emerged as the Brewers top young pitcher. He has had his moments, but ultimately, he hasn’t been able to prove that he has what it takes to be an Ace thanks to a lack of inconsistency. 2017 doesn’t look all too much different, and the Cardinals, who have seen Nelson as much as anyone in baseball should be in fine shape against him.

Matt Carpenter, in particular, is 8-for-16 (.500 AVG) with two homers and seven RBIs against Nelson throughout his career. If there’s something to consider when stacking Cards today, just keep in mind that Mike Matheny isn’t shy about giving reserves a chance from time to time. That’s how we’ve gotten a good view of Jose Martinez, who is currently working on nine game hitting streak. Yes, only one of his hits has gone for extra bases, but he has a super high contact rate, which should bode well for him as he continues to fight for playing time.

Players to consider: Dexter Fowler, Jose Martinez, Aledmys Diaz, Matt Carpenter, Stephen Piscotty, Jedd Gyorko

FAVORITE SUPER-LOW OWNED STACK

OAKLAND ATHLETICS

Yup, I’m back at it with the A’s.

After dropping the game against the Rangers on Monday, against the Rangers, they’ve rebounded to win their last five, all of which have been at home. They’ve averaged 5.8 runs/game through those five games, and are always a sneaky play. It’s a little strange because the makeup of the 2017 Oakland A’s isn’t going to remind you of the Brad Pitt as Billy Beane Moneyball days back in 2002. There are some big power hitters on this year’s club, led by Khris Davis and Ryon Healy

Still, there’s some good value if you go away from them. Yonder Alonso would be your replacement for Healy at 1B, and he has gone 10-for-25 (.400 AVG) with a homer and four doubles against Yovani Gallardo throughout his career. But besides Alonso, the A’s have seen production throughout their lineup, including the likes of Trevor Plouffe, Jed Lowrie, and even Adam Rosales, who has actually been extremely good lately.

Players to consider: Jed Lowrie, Ryon Healy, Khris Davis, Stephen Vogt, Yonder Alonso, Trevor Plouffe, and Adam Rosales
