Daily Fantasy Sports Plays for 3-26-14

Huge night in daily fantasy basketball as multiple sites are giving away thousands of dollars.Below are players I like based on value, production, and matchups. The cheap plays are players who should exceed their value while not costing a lot, the mid-tier group are players that should produce big numbers while not breaking the bank, and the expensive players are high priced players who are worth every penny.

One of those tournaments is the DraftStreet $150,000 NBA league contest.

- $150,000 prize pool.

- Top 400 paid.

- 1st place wins $50,000

- $55 Entry Fee. 3,000 max entries.

- For the games on Wednesday (3/26).

- First time depositors at DraftStreet receive a 100% bonus up to $200

Cheap Plays

*Fantasy Points (FP) and prices are based on DraftStreets scoring system

Ray McCallum ($5,332)- His value all depends on Isaiah Thomas’ status, because if he sits, then Ray-Mac would get the start and play major minutes. The Kings literally only have three active GUARDS on the roster. Also, they face a Knicks team that looks like they have given up as they got trounced by the Lakers last night. We might not hear anything about this situation until after lineups lock since the game is in Sacramento. He is a must start if IT2 is out, but is just a gamble until more information is given.

Jared Sullinger ($9,849)- Winning GPPs means you need a player to blow up who is cheap and Sully fits that criteria. He exploded for 25 points, 20 rebounds, and 4 assist in his previous matchup vs Toronto. His floor is 20 FP, but his ceiling is huge which is why he is one of my favorite plays tonight.

Shaun Livingston ($9,941)- Really like him tonight if Deron Williams sits out. The Nets are missing a handful of player including Marcus Thornton, so Joe Johnson could have a big night as well. The Bobcats are a tough defensive team so would play Livingston unless D-Will sits.

J.R. Smith ($9,501)- Never like recommending J.R. because he just scores points and doesn’t do much else. However, he is a great gamble tonight because he faces Sacramento, a team that is giving up 40 FP to opposing shooting guards in past 15 days. Only play him in GPP games as he is a huge gamble that could pay off in a big way.

Have to mention Mike Scott because he is going to start at the small forward position instead of Kyle Korver (moving Carroll to SG). He is the top cheap forward play because he will get close to 20 FP while costing only $6,339.

Mid-Tier Value Plays

DeMarre Carroll ($10,901)- Has been playing huge minutes for the Hawks and will be starting at shooting guard tonight. Minnesota is a terrible defensive team so expecting Carroll to get at least 25 FP with the potential for a big game.

Marc Gasol/ Zach Randolph- Both players are just over 14K and both had monster games last time they played Utah ( Gasol had 40 FP while Z-BO has 33FP). Gasol is a better play, but try to get both of them in your lineups

Marcin Gortat ($14,793)- Phoenix has no one that can contain Gortat. Also, he used to play for Phoenix so he will be a little extra motivated to play well tonight. Also, he has produced 30 FP or more in three straight games. Doesn’t get much safer than Gortat.

Tyreke Evans ($14,605)- His price is low considering he’s produced 30 or more FP in five of the past six games. He is a must play tonight because his price is low and he always has a chance to boom for 40 plus FP.

Dion Waiters/ Jarret Jack- Both are playing major minutes and producing solid FP. They get a dream matchup vs a team that doesn’t know what defense is in Detroit. Waiters is cheaper, has played 40 plus minutes in five straight games, and has put 25 FP or more in all of those games. My only concern is the fact this is their fourth game in five nights, but he is hard to pass up given how cheap he is ($11,648)

Expensive Plays

John Wall ($17,824)- He is my favorite expensive play as he is cheaper than some other elite options, but should produce like one. He always seems to be on this list and he usually comes through. Also, he is averaging 37 FP at home which he will exceed tonight.

DeMarcus Cousins ($21,570)- There is something wrong the Knicks, like they really do not care anymore, so I expect Cousins to steam roll them for a monster fantasy night. However, I would rather pay a few dollas the player below.

Kevin Love ($21,978)- Is going to be the top scorer on the night, but is very expensive because he put up 43 points and 19 rebounds in the previous meeting vs the Hawks. It will be hard to fit him into lineups because of his high price tag, but is definitely worth it.

Good luck tonigh and feel free to ask me questions on twitter @DaTrueGuru.
