Daily Fantasy Basketball Plays 3-18-14

Below are players I like based on value, production, and matchups. The cheap plays are players who should exceed their value while not costing a lot, the mid-tier group are players that should produce big numbers while not breaking the bank, and the expensive players are high priced players who are worth every penny.

There are two great tournament happening on DraftStreet in the next few days.

Cheap Plays

Fantasy Points (FP) and prices are based on DraftStreets scoring system.

Maurice Harkless SF, Orl ($9,405)-  Has played 30 plus minutes in six of the last seven games and has produced 22 or more FP in five out of the past six games. It is hard to find players that play as many minutes and have the chance to produce sold numbers that are as cheap as Moe.

Mario Chalmers PG ($8,844)- Is cheap on all sites and will get a stellar matchup as Jarrett Jack or Dion Waiters will be guarding him. He has posted 23 plus FP in two of the last three games. Consider him more of GPP play than cash game play, but you can't go wrong using “Super Mario” tonight.

Dion Waiters ($10,427)- The Cavaliers are hurting, literally half their team is hurt including Kyrie Irving, who is out for at least two weeks, so he is going to get ample minutes tonight even if this game becomes a blowout.

Bradley Beal and Kyle Korver are two other guards I really like tonight. Both of them are priced just above $10,000 and they should get close to 25 FP. The Wizards face the Kings and I have preached about how badly the Kings are at defending opposing shooting guards so that is why I love Beal tonight.

Mid Tier Value Plays

There are a number of centers I really like tonight.

Spencer Hawes C, Cle ($13,933)- He is going to be the focal point of the offense tonight with Kyrie out. Miami is giving up the most fantasy points to opposing centers in the past days. In DraftStreet, you want a player to at least double his price to reach value and He will do that tonight. If this game stays close, it will be because of Hawes. He is a must own in GPP tournaments and a safe play in 50/50 contest.

Robin Lopez ($12,662)- Is cheap, facing the terrible Milwaukee frontcourt, and averages over 25 FP at home. Sideshow Bob will easily each value and 30 FP is not out of the question. Also like Marcin Gortat and Jonas Valanciunas tonight, but going to roll with Hawes and Lopez in most lineups.

DeMar DeRozan ($13,824)- Surprised how cheap he is for a player that averages almost 30 FP. He had his way with Atlanta last time he played them by putting up 40 FP. He is a must start and one of my favorite plays tonight.

Two forwards I like tonight that are cheap compared to what they normally cost are Trevor Ariza and David Lee. I am rolling heavily with the Wizards tonight because they will be scoring in bunches vs the Kings. Lee has struggled in three out of the past four games, but has a great matchup tonight and is at the lowest price I have seen him on DS at ($13,995). I would roll him out there in GPP tournaments.

Amir Johnson ($11,971) is another play I will be rolling with tonight as he is avergaing 28.8 FP in past four games.

Expensive Plays

Paul Millsap PF, Atl ($16,645)- I am a bit worried that this the second game of a back-to-back, but he has a chance to put up elite numbers while costing less than some of the other elite options. He is there best player and the Hawks will depend on him if they want to beat the Raptors.

Nicolas Batum SF,Por ($17,127) - Has put on show with LaMarcus Aldridge out by posting back-to-back games with 46 plus FP. That is why his price has skyrocketed and tonight he faces the Bucks. Also has three straight games with 14 or more rebounds. He is looking like a must-start tonight especially in big tournaments

Good Luck and feel free to holler at me on twitter @datrueguru with any fantasy basketball question.
