Daily Fantasy Basketball Plays for 3-15-14

Only five games on schedule tonight, but plenty of great value plays. Below are players I like based on value, production, and matchups. The cheap plays are players who should exceed their value while not costing a lot, the mid-tier group are players that should produce big numbers while not breaking the bank, and the expensive players are high priced players who are worth every penny.

Dont Forget...

Cheap Plays

* Fantasy Points (FP) are based on DraftKings scoring system.

George Hill PG, Ind- Has played 36 or more minutes in three straight games while averaging 15.3 points, 4.6 rebounds, 5.3 assist in that span. The Pistons give up 41 FP to opposing point guards, which is sixth worst in the NBA. Also, both of his backups, C.J. Watson and Donald Sloan, are out tonight so he will be the “King of the Hill”. He is my cheap play of the night.

Carlos Boozer PF/C, Chi- Really like him on DraftStreet as he is only $9,303 and faces the Sacramento Kings. This is going to be a slugfest and Boozer will be crucial if the Bulls want to win this game.

Tayshaun Prince SF, Mem- Going to talk about this game further down, but want to mention Prince because he is going to play close to 30 minutes vs the Sixers and is near minimum value. Game,Blouses!

Mid-Tier Value Plays

Kyle Korver SG/SF, Atl- The streaky shooter has been on fire recently as he is 10 for 12 from long distance in the past three games. He is averaging 31.7 FP during that span and had 35.8 FP last time he played the Nuggets. Look for him to have another solid game tonight as he has played 36 plus minutes in three straight games.

Jimmy Butler SG/SF, Chi- The Kings are giving up 42.8 FP to opposing shooting guards in the past 15 days. He plays heavy minutes (close to 40 per game) and will take full advantage of the matchup tonight. Don’t think many people will roster him tonight so he makes for sneaky play that has huge upside.

Jeff Teague PG, Atl- Denver gives up big games to opposing PGs. Hell, Mario Chalmers had just over 30 FP vs them last night. He is a safe play tonight and has a great chance to have a monster game.

Marcin Gortat C, Wsh- What more is there to say about the big man? He is producing on such a high level. Three straight games with 32 plus FP and has produced 43 plus FP in two of those games. He gets another great matchup tonight as Kevin Garnett is still in a nursing home…I mean nursing a back injury that will keep him from playing tonight. That means, Mason Plumlee and Andray Blatche will be playing heavy minutes in the frontcourt and they are pure garbage on defense. He is a must-start tonight as his price is still low considering his consistent production.

The Grizzlies are 14 point favorites over the Sixers tonight. They lost to the Raptors last night so there attitude coming into tonight’s game is going to be “ I see pride, I see power, I see a bad mother who don’t take no crap from nobody” and punish the Sixers like a punching bag. Mike Conley is at a great price, so I would not be afraid of using him, but I am scared of using Z-BO (Zach Randolph) and Marc Gasol because they will not play heavy minutes if this game gets out of hand early. Nick Calathes makes for an intriguing cheap play as he is averaging 24.5 FP in roughly 18 minutes of playing time. Thaddues Young is a solid GPP play as he has been inconsistent, but can explode for 40 FP on any given night.

Expensive plays

Paul Millsap PF/C, Atl- The price is a tad high on him, but that is because he put up 57! FP in the previous matchup vs Denver. He’s produced 37 or more FP in three straight games. I’m no fortune teller, but I see big fantasy numbers from him tonight.

Paul George SF,Ind- The budding superstar has owned the Pistons this season by averaging 48 FP in their two matchups. Great player, great matchup, and not going to kill your budget that equals must-start status.

Joakim Noah PF/C, Chi- Do not worry about the splits for Noah as he got ejected early in the game last time he played Sacramento. That is why Demarcus Cousins had a huge game that night. Noah does it all, so climb aboard his ark tonight if you want to float to the top of the standings.

John Wall PG, Wsh- Another player that doesn’t need much explanation as he will have a big game vs Brooklyn. His price has dropped on some sites so take advantage of it while you can. I like Martell Webster as cheap play if Bradley Beal sits. That would give Wall even more responsibilities which will lead to more production.

Good luck tonight and feel free to hit me up on twitter (@datrueguru) with any fantasy basketball questions.
