If you survived last week in season-long then most likely you’re playing for the big one this week! If you can imagine, there are still players floating around the waiver wire who could make an impact on championship games. There’s even one first round bust who may just redeem himself and carry you to the top of the mountain in Week 16!

Here’s the Snap Count Recap for Week 15:

RUNNING BACKS

Turns out there wasn’t enough volume for both Tevin Coleman and Devonta Freeman to go around against the 49ers. Coleman barely out snapped Freeman 31 to 30, but Freeman’s 20/139 and three touchdowns left Coleman in the dust. Ty Montgomery played 51 snaps as the starting RB for Green Bay and delivered a fantastic 16/162 line with two touchdowns. Christine Michael played just five snaps, but rushed for 45 yards on his four carries with a touchdown. One large run equated for the inflated total, but even that one moment won’t be enough for Michael to significantly eat into Montgomery’s workload in Week 16. Mike Gillislee had nine carries for 37 yards and a touchdown on 19 snaps, but LeSean McCoy was still the alpha dog in the Bills’ attack. McCoy’s 19/153 and two touchdowns over 41 snaps was a fantasy gold mine on Sunday. Expect more this weekend against the Dolphins.

At the running back positionBilal Powell trailed only Le'Veon Bell in snaps this week with 64 and had himself a Bell-like night with 16 rushes for 84 yards and 11 receptions for 78 more yards. Powell looks like the main weapon in the Bryce Petty-led offense. I hope you season-long Todd Gurley owners didn’t buy into the “win one for the moustache” narrative because no amount of action (51 snaps, 14/38) seems to make Gurley a fantasy option. His keeper league owners must be absolutely terrified. Speaking of frustrating, how about Ryan Mathews? Over 36 snaps, Mathews went off for his best game of the year with 128 yards and a touchdown on 20 carries. I throw my hands up when it comes to predicting the Eagles running game, but the Giants’ one defensive shortcoming seems to be the run. Do with that as you will.

WIDE RECEIVERS

At the risk of sounding like a crazy person, DeAndre Hopkins is viable again. All year I have tried to dissuade folks from using him no matter how cheap his cost and regardless of how favorable the match-up looked on paper. However, with Brock Osweiler out at quarterback, his eight catches on 17 targets for 87 yards (82 snaps!) makes him a huge DFS bargain. Week 16 will be “Hopkins Vengeance Week”! Robby Anderson continues to thrive in the Jets offense (71 snaps, 4/80, TD), but his value this week is about the health of Bryce Petty than the New England road match-up. Rishard Matthews continues to be a solid value 4/105 on 63 snaps as does Brandon LaFell (53 snaps, 7/91) in the absence of A.J. Green. Unfortunately for LaFell owners, Green is due back this week and the Texans are as good as it gets versus the pass. His run is over.

So much for Drew Brees lack of road prowess. Willie Snead (75 snaps, 8/76), Michael Thomas (70, 7/52/TD) and Brandin Cooks (66, 7/186/2 TD) all got into the action during Sunday’s slugfest. Now that the Saints travel back home this weekend, expect Thomas to be the safest option of the three with Cooks having the highest touchdown upside. Matt Barkley is making Alshon Jeffery (61 snaps, 6/89 and a TD) relevant once again, along with teammate Cam Meredith (57 snaps, 9 of 13 for 104 yards). Both should be in play again against the Redskins who are becoming quite inconsistent as they limp towards the finish line. Note to Andy Reid: It’s nice that Jeremy Maclin was back and healthy, playing 49 snaps and catching 6-of-8 targets for 82 yards. However, they MUST get Tyreek Hill the ball more! 30 snaps and three targets is a pathetic amount of volume for your most (and only) explosive playmaker.

TIGHT ENDS

He may not see the end zone much, but in a year where TE has been incredibly frustrating, Jason Witten’s 10 catches on 10 targets for 51 yards on 71 snaps got you through Sunday in PPR formats. Zach Ertz continues to be the best weapon in the Eagles’ air attack hauling in another six catches for 80 yards over a league high 82 snaps for tight ends. Ertz should have another strong week ahead of him against the Giants who struggle against the tight end. Charles Clay (60 snaps) went 7-for-7 with 72 yards and a score. That marks his second straight game of fantasy relevance, but it would asking a lot for him to make it three in a row. Tyler Eifert was a huge bust Sunday against the Steelers (one catch over 51 snaps), and his matchup against the Texans this week doesn’t bode well for a bounce back. On the other side of that same game, Ryan Griffin’s 8-for-8 with 85 yards receiving during a QB change may indeed make him worthy of DFS attention. The Texans offense may all of a sudden be in play again with Tom Savage under center.
