R. Stripling - SP
Ross Stripling surrendered three runs over 3 2/3 innings in a loss to the Astros on Friday.
Stripling gave up a three-spot in the third inning, including a two-run homer off the bat of Carlos Correa. The veteran right-hander hasn't completed five innings since coming off the injured list and now holds a disappointing 6.61 ERA for the year. He's been an interesting fantasy starter in the past, but he doesn't look anything like that pitcher right now.

Carlos Correa went 1-for-4 with a two-run homer against the Blue Jays on Friday.
Correa was 0-for-19 to begin the month of May before he connected for a 397-foot blast against Ross Stripling in the second inning. Hopefully this will get him going again. In his walk year, Correa is slashing .254/.303/.434 with five home runs and 16 RBI through 31 games. He's cut down on his strikeout rate so far while lofting the ball more often and making plenty of hard contact, so there's reason to believe better production should be on the way.

B. Dalbec - 1B
Bobby Dalbec went 2-for-3 with a three-run homer and a walk Friday as the Red Sox bested the Orioles 6-2.
Dalbec was hitless in seven straight games, so he badly needed this. The homer off Matt Harvey was just his second of the regular season after he hit seven in Grapefruit League action. There's still little doubt that the power numbers will come, assuming that the Red Sox leave him alone at first base. Whether he'll be adequate in the batting average department is yet to be determined.

Eduardo Rodriguez moved to 5-0 after holding the Orioles to one run in five innings on Friday.
Rodriguez's stuff isn't what it was two years ago, but he's handing in there anyway. It wasn't easy tonight, as he gave up seven hits and walked three batters, with the walks matching his total from his first five starts combined. Rodriguez's streak of consecutive starts of at least five innings is up to 37 now, though he's pitched exactly five innings in four of his six turns this year. He'll get the A's next.

M. Harvey - SP
Matt Harvey gave up four unearned runs over four innings Friday in a loss to the Red Sox.
Harvey's own error led to a four-run fourth inning, and since the long frame pushed his pitch count up to 86, the Orioles saw no reason to bring him back out for the fifth. Although Harvey took his second loss, his ERA dropped to 3.60 tonight. It's really quite remarkable that he's given up just three homers in 35 innings.

Ryan Mountcastle went 3-for-4 and homered Friday in a losing cause against the Red Sox.
Struggling offensively and miscast as a left fielder, Mountcastle in on the short list for LVPs to date this season. The bat is sure to come around, and maybe it started to tonight. Still, it wouldn't be stunning if the Orioles opted to send him down at some point. After all, such a move might save them money sometime down the line.

J. Crawford - SS
J.P. Crawford went 3-for-3 and hit his first homer of the year Friday to lead the Mariners to a 5-4 win over the Rangers.
It was also his first three-hit game of the season. Crawford has his OPS up to .679 now, which isn't too bad for a quality defensive shortstop. However, with just one homer and one steal in 116 plate appearances, he doesn't have much of anything to offer fantasy leaguers.

D. Jansen - C
Danny Jansen went 1-for-3 with a solo homer in Friday's loss to the Astros.
Bo Bichette and Teoscar Hernandez also homered for the Jays in the loss. Jansen has endured a brutal start to his 2021 campaign -- his still sporting an .095 batting average -- but he's now homered in each of his last two games. He recently started wearing some new goggles at the plate and apparently the goggles do something, after all. Obviously Jansen has a way to go to climb back into mixed league relevance, but it's something.
