This is a crucial next month in the NBA season because things are about to change. Players such as Justin Holiday are getting traded and trades shake up rotations. Also watch for players who are traded and then immediately released because teams will look to pick up those players and try them out in the rotation. Playing time will change. Shot distribution, depending on need at the time, can also change. Players who are in the trade rumor mill will likely get more playing time over the next month so their team can show case them to other teams who may be interested.

Alex Len PF, C ATL-26% Ownership: Even though Len was banged up to end 2018, he’s been a lot more productive in the Hawks offense.  He’s even shooting three’s. He hit a three-pointer in his last two games.  Len has scored in double figures in his last seven games. He will see steady minutes in the mid-20’s and he’s been just as helpful on defense as he’s been on offense. Len has grabbed at least seven boards in his last three games. Len has been noticeably crashing the boards more when the shot goes up on offense and defense. He’s getting better positioning in the paint and he’ll get playing time at both PF and C. Dewayne Dedmon plays a lot from the arc and that will benefit Len if he’s in the game with him at the same time because Len will have the paint all to himself. Len has also blocked hots in his last four games.

DeMarre Carroll F BKN-31% Ownership: Since Allen Crabbe went down with an injury, Carroll has taken full advantage with the extra minutes he’s received. Carroll has scored in double figures in his last six games and hit the 20-point mark in his last 2. Carroll has been seeing consistent minutes in the late-20’s, but, the Nets will extend him and he will play into the 30’s semi-consistently. Carroll shoots a lot of three’s and he’ll help grab long and mid-range rebounds. With the Nets frontcourt a bit banged up at the moment, Carroll will also see minutes at PF. Carroll has grabbed 4.9 boards per game this season. He’s hit at least three three-pointers in his last four games. Carroll will look to push the ball inside and he’ll draw contact. Carroll will provide a little help with assists, but don’t expect a triple-double. Add Carroll for the points, boards and three’s.

Tyler Johnson G MIA-36% Ownership: Johnson is very boom or bust when it comes to his scoring. He’s a UFO in the NBA. It’s hard to figure out which position suits him best. In some games, he’s all about driving and dishing and in others he’ll play like a spot-up shooter the whole games. Johnson has hit double figures in four of his last six games. Johnson can hit shots from all over the court and he will serve as a facilitator on offense until Goran Dragic returns. Johnson will fight for long rebounds and he’s grabbed three per game this season. Johnson will also play aggressively on the perimeter when he’s guarding the opposing ball-handler. He’s recorded four multi-steal games in his last five and he’s even blocked a shot in three of his last five. Johnson does just enough in other stat categories to make up for the inconsistent scoring. Johnson’s minutes are a lot more consistent than his scoring. Expect him to play in the 20’s most nights.

Mason Plumlee PF, C-14% Ownership: If you’re in need of defensive statistics, Plumlee is a committed member of the Nuggets rotation. Even with the team healthier, Plumlee has still been able to get minutes in the 20’s and 30’s. He’s a low-block specific inside player and he’ll play behind Nikola Jokic at Center and because the Nuggets want to play it safe when it comes to Paul Millsap , Plumlee will steal minutes at PF. Expect Plumlee to get a good amount of points from put-backs, but, he does have moves to the basket. When he gets the ball, he will try to force his way inside and draw a ton of contact. Plumlee won’t score in double figures consistently, but he will help out with defensive stats regularly. Plumlee has grabbed at least six boards in eight of his last nine games. Plumlee has also blocked shots in four of his last six games and he’s grabbed steals in three of his last four games.

Tyreke Evans G IND-37% Ownership: Evans could end up being a short-term pick up because his minutes are not where we want them to be. He has been able to produce in volume and that makes him safe enough to add. Evans will normally take advantage of minutes that open up from injuries and he can play multiple positions if needed. Evans has been able to score 10 or more points in his last four games. Evans will provide a small about of help with boards and assists. He can run the point if the Pacers need him too. He’s also shown a bit more commitment on defense. He’s stolen the ball in three of his last four games. Evans will shoot three’s but he is also a hard player to stop once he gets in the paint while driving. If his scoring starts to drop, feel free to release him, but always keep track of the Pacers health because as soon as one of their guards or forwards gets hurt, he’ll see a lot more minutes.

Bismack Biyombo PF, C-16% Ownership: With Cody Zeller hurt and because Willy Hernangomez is a weak defender, Biyombo should see a lot more minutes over the next few weeks. Biyombo brings more ability and toughness on defense while Hernangomez brings more scoring. The Hornets need all of them help they can get to stop the bleeding on the defensive side of the ball. Biyombo played 30 minutes in his most recent game and he’s been able to score in double figures in his last two games and grabbed a total of 19 boards in his last 2 games. Biyombo will battle under the glass and he’ll score a good amount of his points from right under the rim and off of put-backs. Biyombo recorded two steals and two blocks in his previous game. The Hornets don’t have too much depth at Center. Frank Kaminsky is not as impactful of a defender in the post and that makes Biyombo the favorite to grab the majority of minutes that Zeller left behind.

Gerald Green SG, SF HOU-4% Ownership: I told you to go after Austin Rivers last week and now with Eric Gordon still a little banged up, Green is a good short-term solution. He’s been getting consistent minutes in the 20’s and the Rockets will extend him if needed. Green has scored in double figures in four of his last five games. Even though he shoots a lot of three-pointers, he does have good agility and leaping ability in the lane. He did win a Slam Dunk Title. He has the ability to get to rim. Green has also been a bit more helpful on the glass lately grabbing four or more boards in three of his last five games. Green will also be helpful in grabbing blocks and steals on the perimeter. He’s blocked a shot in his last four games. The Rockets guard situation is a little less cluttered with Chris Paul and Gordon hurt. Green is a good short-term solution as are other options for the Rockets.

Jae Crowder F UT-20% Ownership: Crowder has had an up and down season, but he’s been able to stick with the Jazz rotation. Crowder will often call for the ball at the elbow and try to work his way inside. He’s hit multiple long-range jumpers in two of his last three games. Crowder will not only fight for boards at the top of the paint, but he will also fight for positioning once the shot goes up. Crowder has grabbed at least five rebounds in his last three games. He just recorded a three-steal game. Crowder will play in the mid-20’s for the most. He’ll see minutes at both forward positions and his main competition for minutes will be Joe Ingles and Derrick Favors . Crowder has speed and he’ll be beneficial when the Jazz second unit is in transition. Crowder is not in danger of losing his rotation spot despite the inconsistent shooting.

Luke Kornet PF, C-24% Ownership: The Youth movement has begun in New York and Kornet is being prioritized over Enes Kanter . Mitchell Robinson has been dealing with an Ankle injury and Kornet has seen 20-plus minutes in his last 4 games and the Knicks will continue to put Kornet out there. Kornet is a strong long-range shooter. He’s hit multiple three-pointers in four of his last five games. Kornet has also grabbed five or more boards in his last three games. The Knicks will want to showcase Kanter so they can possibly trade him within the next month. Kornet has also grabbed steals in two of his last three games. The Knicks Coaches admire how much he hustles on the court and that should keep him on the court and at the end of the Knicks rotation. When Robinson comes back, the Knicks will find ways to get all three of their Center’s involved. If the Knicks can’t trade Kanter before the trade deadline, they may just keep him limited for the rest of the season.

WILD CARD PICK UP: Danuel House Jr. SG HOU-7% Ownership: House, like Green, is seeing more shots and minutes because Eric Gordon is hurt. House has been given starts and he’s been seeing minutes in the 20’s and 30’s and even when Chris Paul and Gordon are healthy again, he should still be able to stick with the Rockets rotation. He’s been a good defender and he’ll grab steals consistently. He’s stolen the ball in five of his last six games. He’ll also fight for rebounds and even crash the paint for boards. He’s grabbed at least three boards in his last seven games. House does have range when it comes to his shooting and he’ll hit three’s regularly. House has also blocked shots in four of his last six games. The fact that House has been able to draw starts shows the potential for him to stay in the rotation long-term.
