When making trades in your fantasy basketball leagues, you must remember that it’s ok to trade for multiple players as long as you’re getting the best player in the deal. If you’re not getting the best player in the deal, try to deal for players at different positions so it will at least help your depth. If you have a team that has been hampered by injuries most of the season, trade for depth and don’t focus as much on getting the best player in the deal. You’re probably towards the bottom of the standings and that depth will be needed in order to survive.

Reggie Bullock SG, SF DET-22% Ownership: Bullock will constantly be on and off the waiver wire. He’s scored in double figures in four of his last six games. He’ll get a lot of open shots from the arc and he’ll regularly make multiple three’s in a game. He’s grabbed at least three boards in four of his last six games and we can expect him to play into the 30’s for the most part. Bullock will have games in which he’s exclusively a bailout shooter, but he will still be a priority scorer in the Pistons offense. Consider him a fourth shooting option, but with the amount of minutes he plays, he has a safe floor and can be trusted. He’s grabbed steals on the perimeter in three of his last five games. His 11.6 points per game is the trusting stat and with the floor being as safe as it is, he’s safe to pick up if you need the points.

Tyus Jones PG MIN-9% Ownership: Jeff Teague is out and Derrick Rose ’s wear and tear on his body is finally starting to catch up to him. Jones will score in double figures in a decent amount of games, but he’s more valuable for his assists and steals. Jones is a quick, change of pace guard who will be more of a traditional PG and he’ll look to drive and dish. His quickness is extreme and he’ll continue to fill in for the absent Teague. Jones has dished at least four dimes in five of his last six games. He’s also a hound on the perimeter and he’s grabbed steals in five of his last six games. He recently posted a four-steal game. His minutes are safe as he’s been given a 20-plus minute commitment in the Timberwolves rotation. Jones will also shoot from the outside when he’s open, but his biggest strength is making the defense take the bait and collapse in the lane to stop him from scoring.

James Johnson F MIA-31% Ownership: The Heat are currently dealing with illness as a lot of us are during this time. WASH YOUR HANDS! The Heat have multiple players who are sick and Johnson caught the sickness. His previous game was a complete wash, but before that he had scored in double figures in three of his last four games. Johnson can run the point effectively and with Goran Dragic out, he’ll be needed to spread the floor. Johnson will also force post defenders to guard him on the perimeter. He’ll shoot from the arc if open. Johnson has also grabbed five or more boards in four of his last six games. He’s dished at least three dimes in three of his last five games. Johnson also produces two multi-steal games in his last four. It looked like Johnson was going to be completely limited in the Heat’s rotation, but w/ Dragic out until at least February, it gives him life.

Malik Beasley G DEN-11% Ownership: Beasley could end up being a short-term solution, but with Gary Harris out, it gives him a chance to stick in the Nuggets rotation. Will Barton returning will make an impact on the team as a whole and he will take shots away from Beasley, but Beasley has earned his spot and has been very productive over his last five games. Beasley has scored in double figures in his last five games and even when it looked like he was going to be out with an Ankle injury after hurting it Friday, he was able to return to action and score 15 points. Beasley has scored over 20 points in 2 of his last 3 games. He’s been very helpful with steals as he’s swiped balls in four of his last five games. He’s also been helpful grabbing long boards. Beasley has grabbed at least three (which is ideal for guards) in four of his last six games. Expect him to surpass 20 minutes per game for the foreseeable future. He’ll have more competition for minutes once Harris comes back.

Tomas Satoransky , G WSH-40% Ownership: John Wall ’s season is over as he’s getting ready to undergo surgery for his heel and like we saw last week, Satoransky is in a prime spot to fill-in. Last year, Satoransky completely took over the offense and was a good facilitator. He’s agile and uses tremendous speed to go up and down the court. He hasn’t been used that much and his legs are fresh. The Wizards are plagued by injuries as Otto Porter Jr. , Dwight Howard and Markieff Morris are banged up. Bradley Beal has been playing with a sickness. Satoransky doesn’t have to worry about Austin Rivers taking minutes away from him and he scored 20 points in 32 minutes against the Hornets. Look for Satoransky to be a consistent double-digit scorer and he should be able to dish 6-8 assists per game. He’s a must-add at this points and he has three two-steal games in his last four.

Ivica Zubac C LAL-29% Ownership: LAST CALL! ‘Twas the day of Christmas, and the Lakers were missing depth inside. JaVale McGee was very ill. Tyson Chandler had been dealing w/ Back soreness and the sole survivor Zubac was in line for production. He had secured his secured his second double-double in three games. Now, a few games later w/ the Lakers frontcourt a bit healthier (besides LeBron James ) and Zubac is hanging on to his rotation spot. He’s getting just enough playing time to be considered. View him as a boards and blocks specialist. He’s blocked shots in his last six games and grabbed 11 boards in 2 of his last 5 games. LeBron being out will indirectly benefit the rest of the Lakers frontcourt. The Lakers will look to set more players up in the post rather than just relying on LeBron to drive and have the defense collapse on him. Expect Zubac to get plays called for him with the Lakers second unit. He provides more offensive than Tyson Chandler .

Austin Rivers G HOU-8% Ownership: With Chris Paul out for a bit, the Rockets guards will benefit and Rivers, who was just signed, has already made an impact with the Rockets second unit. Rivers has hit double figures in scoring in three straight games. He also played over 30 minutes in all three of his games and that couldn’t be more encouraging. Even when James Ennis III comes back, Rivers minutes shouldn’t be impacted too much. Eric Gordon will be the primary beneficiary of the minutes Paul leaves behind, but Rivers will be a priority scorer with the Rockets second unit. Rivers has also grabbed three or more boards in his last two games. He’ll hit shots from downtown and look to drive. He won’t stay exclusively at the arc. Rivers has hit two three-pointers in all three of his games with the Rockets. Rivers will rotate to both guard spots but expect him to play most of his minutes at PG and that will help his assist-potential.

Jeff Green F WSH-26% Ownership: The Wizards are not only dealing with multiple injuries, but a few players are currently sick. Green will benefit by seeing a lot of minutes with the Wizards second unit. He’s played over 30 minutes in his last 2 games and he scored in double figures in both. Green will look to run the floor and he’ll even be given the responsibility to set the play up and that will come into play for the rest of the season with John Wall ’s season likely over. Green can hit shots from long-range, but mainly expect him to attack the rim. Green has dished at least four dimes in his last two games. He’ll help out with steals on the perimeter. He just posted a two-steal game to go along with three blocks. Seeing Green take 10 or more shots in his last 2 games is also encouraging. He’s been a multi-category producer and he’ll look to take advantage of opposing second units on transition.

D.J. Augustin PG ORL-40% Ownership: Augustin has been able to hang on to his starting role and he’s been a bit more productive over his last few games. He’s scored 17-plus points in 3 of his last 5 games. Augustin has playing time on his side. He’s produced six dimes in both of his last two games. Starting Point Guards are very hard to come by on the waiver wire, but Augustin will continue to be on and off the wire. He’s grabbed steals in two of his last three games and he’ll serve as a bailout three-point shooting option when Aaron Gordon , Evan Fournier and Nikola Vucevic try to create from the arc. Augustin will hit multiple three-pointers in the majority of games he plays. He’ll also look to attack the rim with the ball and he’ll draw a lot of contact. He’s hit 13 free throws collectively in his last 2 games. He’s a safe PG add if you need another guard off your bench.

WILDCARD PICK UP: Maurice Harkless SF POR-6% Ownership: Harkless looks to be healthy once again and is getting more playing time. He’s surpassed 30 minutes in his last 2 games. He’s scored in double figures in two of his last four games and has grabbed at least four boards in hi last four games. Harkless will do a lot of dirty work at the elbow and help grab steals and blocks. He’s recorded multi-steal and multi-block games in his last two. Harkless will also shoot open three-pointers as teams will not prioritize him on defense. He’ll be left open at the arc all day long. He’s a better defender than Evan Turner and he’ll continue to pick up even more playing time because of how good of a defender he is on the perimeter. The Blazers don’t have a lot of mid-court depth and with Harkless minutes trending up, he’ll continue to have double-digit scoring potential on a nightly basis.
