Pos | Player | Team | Opp. Pitcher | DK Sal. | DK FPPG |
SP | Tyler Wilson | LG | S. Jang (R) | $8,200 | 13.27 |
Wilson struggled his last time out issuing five walks in five innings against Lotte. Hanwha's been less selective at the plate. LG's a heavy favorite at -335 looking for the sweep with Wilson on the mound. He enters this outing with a 4.20 ERA, 3.96 FIP and 1.25 WHIP with 31 strikeouts in 40.2 innings making him a solid target in a slippery slate.
SP | Dan Straily | LOT | S. Lee (L) | $7,600 | 19.68 |
After some struggles, Straily seems to be adjusting to life in the KBO owning an impressive 0.63 ERA over 14.1 innings this month with 13 strikeouts versus two walks in two starts. He did not receive a decision in either start but enters as a road favorite against Kiwoom. Less than ideal but Straily should be able to return profit on investment at a reduced price.
SP | Odrisamer Despaigne | KTW | J. Park (R) | $8,600 | 13.09 |
Always volatile Despaigne starts Thursday as a favorite on the road despite an ERA over 10 in 15 innings in June. Keying on his 39:9 K:BB and 3.51 FIP over a run below his actual ERA (4.60) may seem enticing. If Despaigne can limit damage he could garner the quality start bonus with a chance for a win if his offense comes through. Personally using the top two, but Vegas sides with the crafty righty on the road.
SP | Jong Hoon Park | SK | O. Despaigne | $7,700 | 17.34 |
If going against the mainstream, Park's 3-1 this year with a 3.83 ERA, 4.05 FIP and 1.20 WHIP. He's recorded three quality starts as well this year holding hitters to a .230 batting average against this season. With a 42:14 K:BB through 40 innings, he also possesses some strikeout upside in this contest if he can depress hard hits by the Wiz's meat of the order. Feeling lucky? |

C | Kang Nam Yoo | LG | S. Jang (R) | $3,900 | 7.31 |
It's tough to put all the eggs in one basket but Eui Ji Yang's game looks like a rainout and Dong Won Park's nursing a sore knee for Kiwoom. So this leaves Yoo as the last target standing at catcher. Yoo's hitting a robust .452 his last 10 games with only one double but 12 RBI in them. In fact, his OBP sits above his slugging percentage but Yoo's knocked in 18 runs in only 14 contests this month and there's going to be traffic all over the bases for LG facing a pitcher with a 7.48 ERA and 2.24 WHIP in 27.2 innings this season. Rostering "Yoo"-licious across the board.
1B | Roberto Ramos | LG | S. Jang (R) | $5,300 | 11.34 |
First, be sure Ramos gets activated prior to lock but ESPN's Eduardo Perez assured this in Wednesday's broadcast. Ramos rested his sore back and ankle over the last six days and still leads the KBO in home runs with 13 in only 112 at-bats during his debut to the KBO. Read the note above about the Hanwha pitcher and it gets better since he yields a .349 average to left-handed hitters so far.
1B | Dae Ho Lee | LOT | S. Lee (L) | $4,200 | 8.62 |
If trying to save a little money at first base, Lee of Lotte makes for a terrific pivot. He's easy to root for looking like a guy in your softball league who needs to hit a home run to make it around the bases. Lee's hit safely in eight of his last nine contests with three home runs and a slugging percentage of .571 in them. Facing a southpaw with a negative strikeouts minus walks percentage to right-handed hitters only adds to the allure for Lee to launch a home run.
1B/2B | Jose Fernandez | DOO | Y. Heo (L) | $6,200 | 10.84 |
Fernandez gets a match-up versus a LHP who yields a .357 average to right handed batters. Plus, Fernandez enters with a .382 average against southpaws this year and seems due for an extra-base hit or two if Doosan snaps a two game losing skid.
1B/2B | Joo Hwan Choi | DOO | Y. Heo (L) | $2,400 | 7.89 |
Boom or bust infielder Choi hit his seventh home run on Wednesday and doubled in four at-bats scoring two runs and drove in one. He actually hits left-handed pitching for a higher average (.304) than versus right-handed pitchers.
2B | Hoon Jung | LOT | S. Lee (L) | $3,900 | 10.78 |
Fresh off the injured list with a reduced price tag, Jung led off going 2-for-4 for Lotte with a double and a run. Lee allows right-handed hitters a .312 average this year with four doubles, five home runs, 11 walks only only eight strikeouts. Getting right-handed bats in this match-up makes perfect sense.
Pos | Player | Team | Opp. Pitcher | DK Sal. | DK FPPG |
2B/SS | Dixon Machado | LOT | S. Lee (L) | $4,300 | 7.22 |
Segue, Machado also hits right handed and hit safely in eight of his last nine games with seven runs while stealing a base in consecutive games. Run support sometimes lacks during Dan Straily starts but guessing the Giants make up for it on Thursday. Machado will be in the mix and he's recently moved to fifth in the lineup.
SS | Jae Ho Kim | DOO | Y. Heo (L) | $2,900 | 7.34 |
For a solid floor guy with upside, Kim's hitting .358/.421/.442 this year with multiple hits in four of his last 10 contests. Facing a weak pitcher at home desperate to win should make Doosan a nice target and if Kim bats fifth, he could score double digit points at a low cost.
SS | Hak Ju Lee | SAM | H. Yu (L) | $4,100 | 7.09 |
Known for his defense, Lee's been raking of late with eight hits in his last 12 at-bats scoring four runs and driving in four as well. In all three games he's registered multiple hits and .317 in June with three home runs. Pretty, pretty good.
3B/SS | Jeong Choi | SK | O. Despaigne (R) | $5,000 | 8.33 |
Finally waking up, Choi's blasted three home runs over his last three games while hitting safely in seven of his last eight. Despaigne can be tough on right-handed batters but Choi's on a heater batting .333 in June over 45 at-bats with three home runs for SK.
3B/OF | Tyler Saladino | SAM | H. Yu (L) | $4,600 | 8.31 |
Also turning his season around this month, Saladino's appeared in 14 games in June with a .333 average, 11 runs, four doubles, three home runs, 10 RBI, four stolen bases and walked 12 times against 12 strikeouts. Yu tries to limit hits with offspeed pitches but been struggling of late with a 5.40 ERA this month and only four strikeouts in 15 innings.
OF | Jun Woo Jeon | LOT | S. Lee (L) | $4,500 | 9.17 |
Launced his seventh home run on Wednesday and gets a struggling southpaw on the mound for Thursday. Jeon's on a 10-game hit streak with home runs in three of his last seven contests. He actually hits right-handed pitching better than lefties but should get plenty of chances against the Kiwoom bullpen if Lee pitches to his 5.81 FIP.
OF | Eun Sung Chae | LG | S. Jang (R) | $3,300 | 8.75 |
Steady as they come, Chae's slashing .314/.369/.482 with six hits his last 12 at-bats including a double, home run and three RBI. Batting after Ramos if he returns to the lineup only enhances Chae's chances to see fastballs with runners on base.
OF | Hyun Soo Kim | LG | S. Jang (R) | $5,400 | 9.35 |
Another cash game staple, Kim makes sense in GPP's as well for Thursday carrrying a .382 average versus right-handed pitching into this match-up with all three of his home runs against them. Jang struggles with left-handed hitters and Kim's ability to produce doubles and RBI make him a worthy target.
OF | Jung Hoo Lee | KIW | D. Straily (R) | $5,100 | 10.47 |
Representing a one off play while liking Straily, Lee's coming off a 4-for-4 game, ranks second in the KBO in OBP (.446), third in hits (55) and average (.379). He's also hitting .415 through 14 games and 53 at-bats this month with nine doubles and two home runs. |

Team Stacks | |||||
1 | LG | Twins | Opp. Pitcher | Shi Hwan Jang
Stack | Hyun Soo Kim | Eun Sung Chae | Roberto Ramos | Kang Nam Yoo
Entering game play as an overwhelming favorite (-335) with a run total of 10 means the Twins should be providing plenty of traffic on the bases and runs across the plate. The potential return of the KBO league leader in home runs (Ramos) means some power could also be on display against a pitcher with a 7.48 ERA and a .336 batting average against in 27 plus innings of work.
2 | LOT | Giants | Opp. Pitcher | Seung Ho Lee
Stack | Hoon Jung | Jun Woo Jeon | Dae Ho Lee | Dixon Machado
Kiwoom's Lee owns a 6.09 ERA, 5.81 FIP and 1.58 WHIP in 34 innings with a 20:16 K:BB. Versus right-handed batters he allows a .312 average against with four doubles, five hoem runs and 11 walks versus eight strikeouts this season. Hence getting right-handed Giants bats makes perfect sense as outlined in the playbook.
3 | DOO | Bears | Opp. Pitcher | Yoon Dong Heo
Stack | Kun Woo Park | Joo Hwan Choi | Jose Fernandez | Jae Ho Kim
It remains to be seen if Park starts, he's nursing a sore thigh. If not, pivot to an LG outfielder and see if Choi and Kim pay off as cheap middle infield pivots with the Bears a -186 favorite against Samsung.
4 | SAM | Lions | Opp. Pitcher | Hui Kwan Yu
Mini-stack | Ja Wook Koo | Tyler Saladino | Hak Ju Lee
Want a low owned against the grain pivot, get a couple of Lions in the lineup as an underdog facing a crafty southpaw in Yu. His inability to record strikeouts while allowing traffic can be seen in his FIP (5.34) residing over a run above his ERA (4.14) so far in 2020 with a 1.54 WHIP. |
