That was a truly fun week of golf down in Hilton Head, South Carolina. We like to see these players get humbled by tough golf course but sometimes it's also fun to watch the best players in the world, show why they are the best players in the world. They were throwing darts throughout the weekend especially that back nine on Sunday. I was disappointed to see Tyrrell fade late but hey Webb was in the playbook with a lot of other guys on the leaderboard. Lets keep that momentum going as we head north to Connecticut.

We’ve got another great field this weekend in Cromwell at TPC River Highlands. This course got a face-lift just a few years ago when it removed 50 bunkers but upgrading the remaining 69.  They also removed several trees, narrowed the fairways, the greens were redone and a whole lot more.  While all that was done, the course is still a Par 70 and measures out to 6,841 yards.  They have added a lot of risk-reward opportunities for these golfers, which means the better course managers will have an added advantage this week. There is a learning curve on this track but these are the world's best golfers, they'll figure it out quickly.

TPC River Highlands is the second shortest course on the regular PGA Tour schedule. The storyline heading into the last two tournaments was that the short hitting course manager type players have more success on these courses but it isn't really true. The reason those players had success is because the better players who are typically bigger hitters weren't in the field. I'm not saying those short hitters can't win but it is an uphill battle week in and week out. Just look at Bubba Watson, he's a Top 10 distance driver on the PGA Tour and he's won this tournament three times in the last 10 years. The key to victory this weekend will be getting on the green in regulation and giving yourself as many birdie opportunities as possible.  I have filled the playbook with strong SG:TG (Strokes Gained: Tee to Green) players, these are the best ball strikers in the world.  I’ve also targeted proximity as well because what’s getting on the green in two if you are 30 feet from the cup.

PRIMARY STATS TO TARGET: Stroked Gained: Tee to Green, Stroked Gained: Approach, Greens in Regulation, Proximity, and Par 4 Scoring.

MY ONE & DONE PICK: Bubba Watson

Now, lets take a look at the playbook ...
