UPDATED WITH WEEKEND OPTIMALS!!!
Man, it has been a crazy couple weeks but it feels great to be back at the helm of the Fantasy Alarm DFS PGA Playbook. I must start by thanking Steve Pimental for stepping up and doing a terrific job with last week’s Open Championship DFS Playbook. Great advice in that playbook and hopefully you took advantage. Also, I’d like to thank the readers who reached out to congratulate me on the new addition to my family, it was much appreciated. I’m happy to report that everyone is doing great and it was nice to have that week with just my wife and new son, Mason.
How about that Open Championship? This is the most time I’ve logged watching the British live because the TV coverage was on when I was up doing early morning baby feedings. Thank you, Jordan Spieth, for closing as well as you did as I had no shares of Matt Kuchar. I did manage to set one lineup in the millionaire maker on Draft Kings and did quite well.
The RBC Canadian Open has called a lot courses home over the years. Glen Abbey has played host in 2016, 2015, 2013, 2009, 2008, 2004 and once again in 2017. It measures out to 7,253 yards and is listed as a Par 72. The scores have been all over the place at this event but the one common trend for most all of the success players, scoring on the Par 5’s. This is not a long track which means that the long hitters do not have a sizable advantage. Total driving is vital because length and accuracy are equally important on this course. This place is not too different from Jack Nicklaus’ other track of Muirfield Village
The weather looks just awful on Thursday with high winds in the forecast for Friday. The rest of the weekend looks fantastic in Oakville, Ontario. I don’t really see an advantage in tee times looking at the weather report.
A side note for Steve as he thought I would be upset with his selection of Brooks Koepka for the Open Championship in the One and Done. I was not upset and you can’t get mad at a Top 10 finish for the kid, so well played Steve. I will say though, in my own personal one and done league, I’ve used all of the same picks I’ve put in this playbook, I selected Jordan Spieth and I’m pretty pumped about it.
Do you realize that the PGA Championship is just TWO weeks away? It seems like it takes forever for the Masters to roll around and then there’s this long gap before the U.S. Open but then you get the Open and PGA just weeks apart. I can’t wait for Quail Hollow.
GOOD LUCK AND ENJOY THE PLAYBOOK …
