Defense… Defense… Defense! Well it’s Saturday, which means we are still full from the Thanksgiving feast and time to talk defenses for Week 12. Six teams played on Thursday, but none of those defenses garnered top 5 recognition for this week. We are going to attack a lot of the usual suspects this week, because if it ain’t broke don’t fix it! Blake Bortles continues to turn the football over, as does Ryan Fitzpatrick, and the Giants gets to face the winless Cleveland Browns. As always, it’ll be an interesting, exciting, frustrating weekend for us fantasy owners!

Here are the top 5 defenses for Week 12 of the NFL season.

Bills DST vs. JAC

Jacksonville quarterback Blake Bortles has a turnover in all but two games this season, and his 10 pick-sixes are the most in the league since he entered the league. Buffalo has been getting after the quarterback of late, and I don’t envision Bortles, or Chad Henne if Bortles can’t go, playing turnover-free football on Sunday.

Dolphins DST vs. SF

Colin Kaepernick is reaching value in fantasy formats, but the San Francisco offense as a whole isn’t putting up points. The key to this game for the Dolphins defense will be containing Carlos Hyde and not letting Kaepernick beat them with his legs. Miami has forced seven turnovers and notched seven sacks in its last three games. They are a surefire top defense this week.

Broncos DST vs. KC

The Denver defense continues to get it done. Kansas City tends to be settling for field goals way too often and Alex Smith is going to have a hard time throwing on this Denver defense. Spencer Ware won’t have much room on the ground, which means this Kansas City offense will struggle on Sunday. Since this Denver defense has forced a turnover in all but one game this season, they are without a doubt a top defensive unit in Week 12.

Patriots DST @ NYJ

Ryan Fitzpatrick is back under center, which means the Patriots are a more-than-viable option at the DST spot in your lineup. To their credit, New England does have eight sacks in the past two games, but the defense’s fantasy relevance in Week 12 comes solely from the fact that they are playing Fitzpatrick.

Giants DST @ CLE

As much as this is because they are playing the lowly Browns, it’s also due to the Giants great defense of late. They’ve recorded seven interceptions over their last four games, not to mention that they’ve also racked up 12 sacks in that span. They easily could end up being the top defensive unit in Week 12.
