Underdog MLB Top Plays May 19: Aaron Judge in MVP Form
Looking at the board for Thursday, May 19th over at Underdog Fantasy, and do you know what I see? I see green dollar signs, as there are plenty of profitable MLB player props from which to choose. We get to target one of the frontrunners for the MLB MVP award at the moment in the New York Yankees' Aaron Judge, who will also be a popular daily fantasy baseball today. Plus, we’ll go to Cincinnati where the Reds' Tyler Mahle looks to continue his recent string of success. Underdog MLB Player Prop Plays
Aaron Judge OVER 1.5 Total Bases
This is my favorite play of the day, which should come as no surprise. Not only is Aaron Judge hitting .370 with an .852 slugging percentage over his last seven games, but he’s 4-for-9 with two home runs against Bruce Zimmermann in his career. Judge has hit .302 with a .466 wOBA away from Yankee Stadium this season and though Zimmermann has been quite good of late, any given swing is a chance for Judge to smash the over.
Tyler Mahle OVER 4.5 Strikeouts
Cleveland hasn’t struck out a ton of late, but earlier this year, Tyler Mahle notched four strikeouts in four innings of work against the Guardians. Now, fast forward to the month of May, and Mahle has been somewhat better recently, allowing no more than two earned runs in either of his last two starts while recording over one strikeout per inning. Sure, his last two starts have come against the Pirates, but this 4.5 mark is slightly lower than where I anticipated it to be.
