It’s Sunday, so you know what that means! It’s time to take a look at the interleague matchups for the upcoming week and determine how it will affect our fantasy lineups. What fantasy players stand to gain some value? You’ll find that and more here at Fantasy Alarm!

This week, we have four interleague matchups. However, with the fantasy baseball season coming to a close, there are some serious fantasy implications of which you need to be aware as you set your lineups for the week, or prepare for the week ahead. Keep on reading to see who gains/loses some at-bats, as well as fantasy value for the week that lies ahead.

Orioles @ Phillies (9/20-9/22)

No designated hitter spot for Baltimore presents some serious issues. If Mancini doesn’t play first, he’s on the bench. Would they stick Ryan Mountcastle in left field for the first time in months? If they do that, do you take Austin Hays out of the lineup? What about Anthony Santander? Back in May at Washington, Mancini got all three starts at first base, while Mountcastle handled two games in left field. Mancini has been in and out of the lineup of late, so don’t be surprised if he sees fewer at-bats than Mountcastle, and if Santander gets a game on the bench when Hays has to move over from left field.

Winners: Ryan Mountcastle

Losers: Trey Mancini, Anthony Santander

Mets @ Red Sox (9/21-9/22)

Two left-handers on the bump for Boston in this series, and the Mets will likely spread the love amongst the at-bats out of the DH spot. The Mets have used five different guys in that spot this year, and if they don’t opt to give someone like Pete Alonso a defensive day off, Dom Smith or Jeff McNeil seem the most likely candidates for the starting DH gig. However, the Mets only play a handful of games this week, making many of their non-regulars tough starts outside of the deepest of NL-only formats.

Winners: No Major Winners

Losers: Fantasy Managers Relying on New York Bats

Twins @ Cubs (9/21-9/22)

In the team’s last interleague matchup in an NL stadium, Donaldson didn’t start any of the team’s games at third base. He’s been playing some third base of late, however, so the easy thing to assume is that Minnesota just slides Donaldson into third base, and then Luis Arraez can play second base and Jorge Polanco heads to shortstop. That seems like the most likely scenario.

Winners: Josh Donaldson

Losers: No Major Losers

Marlins @ Rays (9/24-9/26)

Jesús Aguilar has over half of the team’s starts at DH this season, but he’s out of commission at the moment. Eddy Alvarez has popped up in the lineup of late, but only against righties. So, he could DH while Isan Díaz holds down the hot corner, but if the team chooses not to deploy him against a southpaw, he could find himself on the bench for both games. That would open the door for Joe Panik to get some at-bats, or maybe one of the backstops.

Winners: Joe Panik

Losers: Eddy Alvarez
