It’s Sunday, so you know what that means! It’s time to take a look at the interleague matchups for the upcoming week and determine how it will affect our fantasy lineups. Which players are gaining or losing fantasy value this week? You’ll find that and more here at Fantasy Alarm!

We have a light interleague schedule this week folks, with just two series being of the interleague variety before the All-Star break. Many sites employ an extended week with the All-Star game and festivities taking place in the middle of next week. So, if your league operates under that principle, there’s one interleague series after the break, of which you’ll need to privy.

Let’s take a look at what fantasy players gain/lose fantasy value for this week!

Reds @ Royals (7/5-7/7)

With the Royals scheduled to throw two lefties in this series, Aristides Aquino should get at least two starts, whether it be in the outfield or at the DH. When Brady Singer takes the mound for the series finale, Aquino might head to the bench in favor of Shogo Akiyama, who has primarily played against righties. Cincy could always deploy both catchers in the lineup, but Aquino getting the at-bats versus the lefties seems like the smartest move.

Winners: Aristides Aquino

Losers: Shogo Akiyama

Phillies @ Red Sox (7/9-7/11)

When the designated hitter has been made available to Philadelphia this year, they’ve used it for their veterans, as J.T. Realmuto, Andrew McCutchen, Rhys Hoskins and Brad Miller have all had at least one DH appearance. Expect a similar situation here from Philly, with no one player gaining or losing a substantial amount of fantasy value.

If your league employs the extended week..

Rays @ Braves (7/16-7/18)

Tampa exploits the matchups, so it will largely depend on what three pitchers Atlanta sends out there. Austin Meadows has primarily been the team’s DH of late, but they will want his bat in there against righties, which likely pushes Randy Arozarena from left field to right, taking at-bats away from Manuel Margot. It seems like Margot could lose out on some at-bats, unless Atlanta sends out multiple left-handers, then, it’s likely Meadows that rides pine.
