Welcome to the Fantasy Hockey Waiver Wire Report! The waiver wire is key to winning. It helps you improve on the team you drafted, and to help patch holes when players go down due to injury. It’s something most managers will monitor daily. Let’s take a look at who we should be adding this week.

Dylan Strome - Chicago Blackhawks - Center/Winger

I don’t know what Dylan Strom has been eating over the last two weeks, but it seems to have turned him into a goal-scoring machine. The 25-year-old has seven goals in the last five games and has played over 22-minutes in three of those games. The ice time and skating with Alex DeBricant and Patrick Kane might be why he’s all of a sudden producing, but if he keeps this up, he could be a real steal for fantasy owners preparing for the playoffs. He’s widely available across most platforms, so don't wait and add him immediately!

Rem Pitlick - Montreal Canadiens - Center/Winger

It’s crazy to see Rem Pitlick’s name here, but the 24-year old has clearly earned it. He was spotted centring Josh Anderson and Cole Caufield in their last game against Philadelphia and is regularly playing over 18-minutes a nice. He has 16 points in 23 games with Montreal and is 1% owned in Yahoo! leagues. He’s not going to win anyone a fantasy hockey championship, but he certainly doesn’t hurt your chances. He deserves to be on a roster in deeper formats.

Alex Newhook - Colorado Avalanche - Center

We’ve already talked about Alex Newhook, but this is the last time! With Gabriel Landeskog done for the season, someone has to step up and play in the top-six and Newhook can be that guy. He can easily play over 18-minutes a night, but he has to produce. He has two points in the last five games and has seen less than 13-minutes of ice time in three of those games. There is no questioning his skillset and his ability to score goals, but he can’t waste this opportunity.

Erik Kallgren - Toronto Maple Leafs - Goalie

I had no idea who Erik Kallgren was before this morning but now I do. He’s a 25-year-old goalie that has spent most of his career playing in Sweeden and is currently the backup goalie to Petr Mrazek. With Mrazek being a trash can and Jack Campbell still out due to injury, you have to believe that the Leafs have to *at least* give their third-string goalie a start. He can’t be worse than the option before him. The Leafs have three games in five days this week and they would be wise to give him a start. If you’re desperate for a goalie, this is a short-term solution that can help in really deep formats.

Sean Durzi - Los Angeles Kings - Defence

It’s time to talk about Sean Durzi again. With Drew Doughty and Matt Roy out of the lineup, the Kings are hoping their young defenceman can step up and play some big minutes for them. He played over 26-minutes against the Florida Panthers on Friday and finished that game with one assist. He’s back on the top power play and is widely available across every platform. He’s a short-term solution until Doughty is ready to return.
