Samaje Perine RB, WAS- When Rob Kelley left the Week 10 contest against Minnesota with a high ankle sprain and MCL sprain, a window of opportunity was opened for Chris Thompson and Samaje Perine. In Week 11, Thompson fractured his fibula meaning Perine was the last man standing. The big-bodied running back received a full complement of carries against the Saints to a tune of 23 for 117 yards and a touchdown. With seemingly no one else around to take carries from Samaje, we’re looking at a 20-25 carry workload as long as Rob Kelley is on the shelf for the remainder of the season.

Jamison Crowder WR, WAS- Back to back Redskins here and this one shouldn’t come as a surprise as Chris Thompson might be the most integral part of this Washington pass offense. As the teams second leading receiver in 2017, Washington will be looking for someone else in the short passing game and that simply increases the value of the teams third leading receiver, Jamison Crowder. With the Redskins losing ground in the division and bodies on the field, look for them to feed one of their best remaining players in Crowder. Only owned in 61.4% of ESPN leagues, Crowder could be a savvy addition heading into the fantasy playoffs, especially in PPR leagues.

Orleans Darkwa RB, NYG- This Giants team is not very potent, but they are staying true to the running game. Even in a blowout to the Rams in Week 9, the Giants ran the ball 26 times for 111 yards. The Giants want to see what they have in Orleans Darkwa as he’s led the team in carries in five straight contests and is also getting looks the passing game with 12 targets over that same span. Still available in almost 30% of ESPN leagues, Darkwa is a nice fill in if you’re battling injuries and is averaging almost 10 standard league FPPG over the last six games.

Falling Stock

Alex Smith QB, KC- Most quarterbacks are better, statistically, at home than they are on the road. Smith however, is much worse at home. In the Chiefs’ six road games this season, Smith has 14 passing touchdowns and is averaging 280.3 yards passing per game. In their four home games, Smith has only 4 passing touchdowns and is averaging 248 yards passing per game. The Chiefs offense as a whole has come to a screeching halt in weeks 10 and 11 scoring 26 total points and two total touchdowns. Kansas City plays four of their next five games at home and Smith has thrown a total of three INT’s against bad pass defenses in the last two games, a definite cause for concern.

Derek Carr QB, OAK- Oakland just can’t find a rhythm on offense in 2017. Their eight point performance against New England exemplified everything that has been wrong with them this season with a ton of drops, miscommunication and abandoning the running game. Carr has a single touchdown pass in each of the last three games to go along with four interceptions and two of those games came against pass defenses that have been getting torched as of late in Miami and Buffalo. It’s extremely hard to trust Carr from here on out, even with plus matchups against the Giants and Chiefs looming.

Dak Prescott QB, DAL- No Zeke, no Tyron Smith, no offense for the Dallas Cowboys. Since losing both of them Dak is averaging just over 160 passing yards per game with 0 touchdowns, 3 interceptions, 3 fumbles and getting sacked 6 times per game. Dallas is in a world of trouble offensively and with no real end in sight as they play the Chargers and Redskins in their next two games, both in the top half of the league in sacks and takeaways. With Dak averaging 5.5 standard fantasy points per game in the last two games, it’s likely time to stop rolling with him as your starting QB in 2017 unless we see his big left tackle back on the field.

Stock to Watch

Corey Coleman WR, CLE- This was always a guy with immense talent, just having trouble with injuries and quarterback play. Finally back from injury, Coleman reeled in 6 of 11 targets for 80 yards against an elite Jags secondary. In his three games this season, Coleman is averaging eight targets and is building a nice rapport with QB DeShone Kizer. Expectations should be tempered with the young receiver but with little talent on the offense, volume shouldn’t be an issue and we could see a breakout game here in the final weeks. Corey Coleman is just too talented to ignore.

Ricky Seals-Jones TE, ARI- Who!? The rookie out of Texas A&M exploded onto the scene with two touchdowns on his first three receptions of the season in Week 11. This may be a total reach and a one time thing, but looking at this deeper may intrigue you. In Blaine Gabbert’s first start of the season he looked to Fitzgerald early and often but when he needed to throw it to a big body, he went to Ricky Seals-Jones, not Jermaine Gresham. Is it a coincidence that in Gabbert’s first start Seals-Jones has his first coming out party as well? Maybe. With Arizona at the bottom of the standings and looking to see what they have for next season, it’s not all that crazy to think that they may give him a few extra looks in these last few games. Keep an eye on the athletic tight end, he may surprise us.
