Below are stacks to consider for Friday’s MLB DFS action.

The Chalk

Coors Field

Four teams are separated from the pack in terms of Vegas’ projected run totals for the evening, and it’s no surprise that the two teams playing at Coors are among those four teams. The Rox will host the A’s with a couple of left-handers in Sean Manaea and Kyle Freeland on the mound. Manaea has been a bit below average against both lefties and righties this season, but Freeland has more traditional splits with good numbers against lefties but significantly worse numbers against righties.

Colorado has three right-handed hitters who have been at least 35 percent better than average against lefties this season. They’re led by Nolan Arenado who has a whopping 230 wRC+ vs. LHP, and he’s followed by Trevor Story and Ian Desmond . Charlie Blackmon is also in play given that Manaea doesn’t have much of a platoon split.

For the A’s, you’ll want to stick with their right-handed bats against Manaea. The last four times they have faced a left-handed starting pitcher they’ve submitted a lineup card with only one left-handed hitter in it, first baseman Matt Olson . That means you’ll have plenty of options for stacking A’s. The further down the lineup you go with your stack, the less chalky it will be.

AL East

The other two teams in the group of four that is separated from the pack tonight are the AL East powers. The Yankees lead the league in wRC+ and the Sox are tied for second, so it’s no surprise they have high projected totals tonight. They’ll each face a right-handed starting pitcher, with the Yankees facing Brad Keller and the Sox facing Lance Lynn . Keller is below average against hitters on both sides of the plate, and Lynn has some enormous traditional splits that mean he should be picked on with lefties.

The Yankees have eight active hitters who have been above average against right-handed pitching this season, so you should have no shortage of options filling out a Yankees stack. With Keller not showing traditional splits, almost the entire lineup is in play. For the Sox, you’re a bit more limited as Andrew Benintendi is the only left-hander hitting in the top half of the lineup tonight. That said, the right-handed hitters he’s sandwiched between in the lineup, J.D. Martínez and Mookie Betts , are so good against same-handed pitching that they could be considered platoon-proof.

Not the Chalk

Toronto Blue Jays

With a Coors game on the slate and the AL East teams having such high projected totals, that should draw most of the ownership this evening. Toronto isn’t super contrarian with the eighth highest projected total of the evening, but those other obvious spots to target keep the Jays from being chalky.

Toronto will face right-hander Reynaldo López , and he’s a stacking dream matchup. Lopez allows a lot of balls to be put in play with only a 16.4 percent strikeout rate on the season. And he has a tendency to allow balls put in play to be elevated and hit hard. Over the last 30 days he has the fourth lowest soft contact rate generated among tonight’s probable starters, and he has the highest fly-ball-plus-line-drive percentage on the season among tonight’s starters. He’s also below average against hitters from both sides of the plate.

The Jays have six hitters who have been above average against right-handed pitching this season. Justin Smoak leads the way with a 136 wRC+ vs. RHP, so he should be the keystone of the stack. Other options include Kendrys Morales , Randal Grichuk , Curtis Granderson , TeOscar Hernandez , and Aledmys Diaz . It should be easy to build a streamlined stack consisting of those guys when Toronto’s lineup comes out.

Philadelphia Phillies

The Phillies have a matchup like the one the Jays have against Lopez. Philly will face Anthony DeSclafani who has the lowest soft contact rate generated this season among today’s probable starters, and he has a below average strikeout rate. He also leans just slightly to the fly ball side of the spectrum. He does, however, have more of a split profile, so lefties are preferable against him.

Thankfully, the Phils have four guys who will hit from the left side in the lineup tonight, and they’re all in the top six of the order. More importantly, they’ve all been above average against right-handed pitching this season. Those four are Nick Williams , Odubel Herrera , César Hernández and Carlos Santana . The two right-handers in the top six are Rhys Hoskins and Maikel Franco , who have both been well above average without the platoon advantage, so one of those guys could be included in the stack as well.
