Please note that there are a few weather concerns tonight.  Please make sure to stay up to date on any weather issues that are happening closer to first pitch.

Dodgers

The Dodgers are coming off a home loss to the Padres yesterday, just their 14th home loss this year.  The Dodgers face Jhoulys Chacin from the Padres in the second game of the series tonight.  Chacin has been pitching well lately, as he went 4-0, with a 2.75 ERA in five starts in July. Chacin has had some issues with facing the Dodgers, which includes only lasting 3 ? innings on opening day, allowing nine runs.  He held them scoreless during his strong July run, but Vegas believes tonight will look more opening day for the Dodgers.

Dodgers hitters have 91 home runs at home this season (Rank: 3rd of 30 in MLB), while Chacin has allowed 11 HR’s on the road this season.  He is much easier to pick on when he pitches on the road, as Chacin has a 1.86 home ERA, compared to 7.36 on the road.  Bellinger, Grandal, and Joc have all taken him deep before, while Turner, Puig, and Utley are all hitting over .310 vs Chacin.

Top Stack Suggestions:  Cody Bellinger, Justin Turner, Corey Seager, Yasiel Puig

Secondary Options:  Yasmani Grandal, Chase Utley (if starting), Chris Taylor

Royals (maybe White Sox)

The Royals face their old teammate in Jame Shields tonight, and similar to the Dodgers, are coming off a tough loss to a poor team last night.  Facing Shields should help the Royals get out of their slump, while keeping  themselves in the division race.  Shields has a 4.02 ERA in 12 career starts vs the Royals, which includes his start on July 21st, where he allowed six runs off ten hits to them.  The Royals have one of the higher projected run totals of the slate, and Shields has allowed six runs in four of his last eight starts, giving up multi-hr games in those four games as well.  Royals hitters have a swing rate of 51.5% (6,093/11,821) versus RHP this season (Rank: 1st of 30 in MLB).  The good news is that Shields is striking out many players, with a high of six this season, and only 65 in 80 career innings vs the Royals.

I don’t mind full stacking this game, as the Royals' have allowed at least 5 runs in their last 5 games dating back to August 7th (this is the longest active streak).  Having Kennedy taking the mound for the Royals may extend the streak to six games.  Kennedy is 2-2 with a 4.70 ERA in seven starts vs the White Sox.   Although he has allowed seven home runs in those 38 ? innings,  Abreu is the projected starter who has homered off of hm.  Moncada is 1-2, with four rbi’s though, and Smith, Anderson, and some of the other younger Sox have been holding their own during this home stretch.

Top Suggested Stack:

Royals:  Mike Moustakas, Brandon Moss, Drew Butera, Lorenzo Cain

White Sox:  Jose Abreu, Yoan Moncada, Tim Anderson, Nicky Delmonico
