Hitters

Play of the Day: Nelson Cruz-- Cruz is 11-17 with a homer off of Kendall Graveman, who just allowed seven runs in two innings to the Giants. Cruz went deep twice in the first game of the double-header on Sunday, and is now batting .324 with four home runs over his last 10 games.

GPP Play: Jake Lamb-- Maeda gave up 10 earned runs over nine innings in two starts vs. the D-Backs back in April. Lamb hasn’t gone deep since July 21st, and has only had two XBHs since since as well. Lamb is in nice spot to break out of his current slump though, as Lamb is 9-20 with two home runs, and six RBI off of Maeda.

Value Play: Tyler White- The Astros have the highest projected run total tonight by a large margin, and White provides some cheap exposure to the top offensive team in the majors. White is 5-9 with three homers, and a double over his past two games. The lefty Holland is just 1-7, with a 8.65 ERA since June 2nd.

Value Play: Jose Osuna--  Osuna should be back in the Pirates lineup tonight vs. the lefty Boyd. Boyd has a 5.40 ERA in inter-league play, and Osuna has at least two hits in four of his last five starts, including three doubles and a triple.

Pitchers

Play of the Day: Chris Sale --Sale will be facing the Rays for the fourth time this season. He has gone seven innings and struck out 12 in each of those first three starts. Sale is first in the league with 216 Ks, and a 0.91 WHIP. Sale has allowed zero runs in four of his last six starts.

Top Play: Corey Kluber- Kluber has been on fire in his 12 starts since coming off the DL. Kluber has at least eight Ks in all 12 starts, while reaching double digit Ks in 10 of them. Corey is 6-1 with a 1.77 ERA, .172 AVG against, and a 13.7 K/9 over those 12 starts. He’s also 11-4 with a 2.27 ERA in 18 inter-league games.

Pivot Play:  Jose Quintana -- Quintana looks to bounce back from his first rough start for the Cubs, even though it was Goldschmidt that did most of the damage vs him. The Giants have the lowest projected run total tonight after the Indians and Rays, and have hit the fewest home runs. Before the game vs. Arizona, Quintana had allowed three or less runs over his previous 10 starts.

GPP Play: Chad Kuhl-- Kuhl is in a similar spot as Trevor Williams was last night for the Pirates vs. the Tigers tonight. Williams and the Pirates held the Tigers to just two hits, and Detroit joins the opponents of the three pitchers above, as the only teams projected to score less than four runs currently. Kuhl is 2-1 with a 2.70 ERA over his last seven starts.
