Nine games on the main slate for this Sunday, after a pretty wild Saturday in baseball. Today, we have Chris Sale pitching for Boston, and he is roughly $3K more than the field on DK, and about $1.5K higher on FD. You’ll need to find a value play or two if playing Sale today, but if going another route, you should have the ability to target who you want to. While teams like Boston, Atlanta, and the Dodgers have very favorable matchups in my opinion, below I’ll focus on a few other stack options for you to use this afternoon.

As always, things can change based on lineups and weather, so do stay up to date using the Playbook Pro tools. Below are my favorite stack options for the day. Good luck!

Stacks for Sunday, June 4

Detroit

Wanted to stack the entire Sox/Tigers yesterday, and missed the mark by not focusing on the Tigers. They’ll be one of the popular routes today vs David Holmberg. He’ll be making his second start of the season after being in the bullpen to start. He only lasted four innings in that start, and not expected to go deep today, especially if he can’t throw strikes. As a starter, Holmberg has a strike rate of just 54.2% (39/72) this season (Rank: Tied for 189th of 194 qualified SPs in MLB). The White Sox have given up 25 runs through the first two games of the season,

Detroit has been solid vs lefties this season, having homered every 21.1 at bats when facing left-handed pitchers this season (Rank: 1st of 30 in MLB). They also have an OBP of .357 at home this season (Rank: 3rd of 30 in MLB). Hopefully the roll out their typical lineup due to me liking Miggy at home during day games, and whomever has been leading off between Machado and Romine, have been very

Top Stack Suggestions:

Detroit: Miguel Cabrera, Dixon Machado (or Romine if leading off), J.D. Martinez, John Hicks

Secondary options: Nick Castellanos (if in 2 spot), Mikie Mahtook (if need salary relief), Justin Upton

Alternative Stack: Go slightly contrarian with either Yankees or Blue Jays stack.

Arizona @ Miami

With the way this game played out yesterday, I can see people either fully fading, or looking at a bounce back game. I’m looking at it more as a matchup between two pitchers that are a combined 0-3 through only three starts in the majors this season.

For the Marlins, Vance Worley is no Edinson Volquez. He lost his starting role to Locke, and after one relief appearance, is back to a starting spot. He allowed a .305 avg in his 8 minor league starts, and in the majors, right-handed hitters have a miss rate of just 12.0% against him as a starter this season (Rank: 180th of 183 qualified SPs in MLB). While Arizona is much better at home than the road, they should be able to bounce back after being no hit yesterday.

Arizona send Bradon Shipley to the mound for his first appearance since a spot start on May 4th. The fourth was not with him that day as he walked 6 while taking the loss in just four innings. He has a career ERA of 5.35 and a 1.61 WHIP in 74 innings at this level, anf the Marlins have won six of their last seven games, showing a power surge with players like Stanton and Bour leading the way.

Top Stack Suggestions:

Miami: Giancarlo Stanton, Justin Bour, Marcell Ozuna, J.T. Realmuto

Arizona: Jake Lamb, David Peralta, Yasmany Tomas, Brandon Drury

*Alternative to this stack: Go with Goldy over Bour, then Gordon or Yelich over Drury/Tomas.

Giants at Phillies

While the Dodgers at Brewers would be the ideal full game stack for me, I’ll need to be different and save some salary to fit Sale in my lineup. A Giants/Phillies combo comes with some risk, but also fits with the idea of a high risk stack with a top pitcher.

The pitching matchup features Matt Moore vs Jeremy Hellickson. These pitchers aren’t bad, but are not great either. Even though Philly may not have too many of them, Moore has shown some reverse splits this season, with left-handed batters are hitting .381 against Moore this season (Rank: 158th of 161 qualified SPs in MLB; League Avg: .258), and he has an ERA of 7.50 on the road this season, but that is slightly inflated due to being rocked one game vs the Dodgers.

Hellickson hasn’t won, or pitched over 5 innings at home since April, and is the home underdog today. The Giants need to wake up, having played 6 straight games without hitting a home run (this is the longest active streak). Giants hitters have a Well-Hit Avg of just .133 versus starting pitchers this season (Rank: 30th of 30 in MLB), but are not striking out as much as others. Hellickson has pnly struck out more than 2 batters in just two of his starts this season.

Top Stack Suggestions:

Phillies: César Hernández, Odubel Herrera, Howie Kendrick, Maikel Franco

Giants: Brandon Belt, Buster Posey, Brandon Crawford, Eduardo Nunez

Alternative stack: Full game Dodgers at Brewers
