We’ve got a lot of really strong starting pitchers going on the main slate tonight, but don’t worry, there’s still plenty of trash available for stacking purposes. Once again, be sure to check the weather as the Cubs/Mets game has the potential to see delays. We’re not hearing much in the way of possible postponement, but you just want to be sure.

As for stacks I’m looking at for tonight’s main slate…

Los Angeles Dodgers/Colorado Rockies

Chalk? Yeah. Of course. Anyone hitting in Colorado is a chalk stack. But I’m more on the Dodgers than I am the Rockies with Walker Buehler on the mound. That’s not to say you can’t go with a Charlie Blackmon , Nolan Arenado , Carlos González stack, but it’s pricey and it’s not like the Rockies have been lighting up the scoreboard when they’ve faced good pitching. On the other side, however, I’m all-in on the top four of the Dodgers lineup – Chris Taylor , Justin Turner , Yasmani Grandal and Matt Kemp . Marquez has those reverse splits we sometimes see where he struggles against same-handed hitting. We see it this year with the .343 wOBA righties have posted against him and for his career, he’s allowing a .356 wOBA. Let us also not forget his 7.43 ERA at home this season compared to the 2.06 ERA he has on the road.

Texas Rangers/Los Angeles Angels

Not really looking at full stacks here, but mini-stacks are very much in-play for me in this game. Bth pitchers have had their blow-ups but they’ve also had a few shining moments as well. Using mini-stacks doesn’t put you all-in on one side or the other. For the Rangers, a Nomar Mazara /Joey Gallo mini should do us well as could a Shin-Soo Choo /Adrián Béltre one. For the Angels, any of the consecutive righties in the top five of the lineup should suffice – Ian Kinsler , Mike Trout , Justin Upton , Albert Pujols , Shohei Ohtani . Heck, maybe even Andrelton Simmons . Invest, but don’t over-invest.

Philadelphia Phillies

It really depends on how the Phillies set their order here as consecutive right-handed bats are what I want to do against Giants starter Andrew Suarez . That might mean a pair of mini-stacks instead of a full-blown one. I like César Hernández , Maikel Franco , Aaron Altherr and Carlos Santana as possible routes to go here and I actually kind of like Jorge Alfaro , but they rarely hit him high enough in the order to get him going in a decent stack.
