As I stated in the Hitting Coach, be sure you check the weather. I am 100% in favor of stacking the entire Yankees lineup against Kevin Gausman , but this one looks like it could get postponed. A delay wouldn’t be bad for hitting purposes, but you don’t want to risk it, especially when the two teams are in the same division and are in such close proximity. They could easily make the game up later.

As for the rest of the early slate…

Milwaukee Brewers/Chicago White Sox

Given the pitchers on the hill today, this game has game-stackability, though I definitely favor using the Brewers over the White Sox. James Shields ’ raw numbers are surprisingly decent, but if you look at his xFIP and SIERA, you can easily tell that it’s just a matter of time before he starts getting destroyed. The 1 through 4 hitters are the primary stack as you get lefties Christian Yelich and Travis Shaw mixed in with Lorenzo Cain and Jesus Aguilar . Might be a little chalky, but still workable. I also like the mini-stack of Ryan Braun and Ji-Man Choi if you want something a little more under-the-radar.

As for the White Sox against Jhoulys Chacin , I’m leaning towards the first three in the order – Yoan Moncada , Yolmer Sánchez and José Abreu . The rest of the lineup, in truth, looks a little trashy, so I’m more inclined to just stick with the Brewers hitters and find a different low-owned stack to pair up with them.

Oakland A’s

A pair of mini-stacks here against Jason Hammel could be an interesting route to take. Marcus Semien is just off paternity leave and rejoined the team yesterday so he probably got his first good night’s rest in days and should be amped up for his first start back. Pairing him with Matt Joyce might be a nice lower-priced option. If you want to spend more, then Khris Davis and Matt Olson paired up could be fantastic. Davis is getting his timing back after a DL stint and Olson is locked in right now.

Detroit Tigers

This could be the low-owned sneaky stack of the day. I love both Nicholas Castellanos and Jeimer Candelario against southpaw J.A. Happ and you might be able to bring it three or four deep if you have Miguel Cabrera and/or Niko Goodrum alongside them in the order. The lineup wasn’t released at the time of writing this, so be sure to double check when it comes out.

Cleveland Indians

This is likely to be a super-chalky stack given the way the Tribe has played recently and the fact that Lance Lynn 's overall numbers stand out like a turd in a punch bowl. If you can fit the likes of a José Ramírez and Francisco Lindor , then I highly recommend, even for cash games, and then there are guys like Edwin Encarnación , Yonder Alonso and Michael Brantley all available. Any incantation of stack or mini-stack plays here today.
