Welcome to the DFS MLB Playbook for Monday, April 16!

As always, especially this time of year, you need to pay very close attention to the weather. We've had a number of postponements recently due to both the cold and precipitation. Teams aren't afraid of delaying games due to the weather and the last thing you want to do is get caught with players in your lineup who are in danger of having their games postponed. If you notice some shaky weather conditions, you may want to avoid them completely in cash games. If you want to take the risk and use some contrarian plays in GPP tournaments to get a leg up on the ownership projections, then sure, but understand that you could get saddled with a zero.

The plays below are my recommendations for today's DFS contests, but keep in mind, when we're looking for some value plays for lineups, we could dig deeper than just the players here. I will try to have them listed in the introduction to keep you as informed as possible. In the meantime, here's the primer coat to the DFS masterpiece you're looking to create for tonight's contests.

UPDATE: We lost the STL/CHC game. Postponed due to the weather. I just pulled out the Cards and Cubs from the Playbook and will find some added bats to add to the Optimal Lineups intro.
